I was thinking of having the collector limpet to act as a fast scoop when needed, and the fuel scoop is so I don't have to hang around systems too long.

An ADS for those un-mapped systems. (Necessary?)

SRV hangar for obvious reasons, and 16 tonnes cargo to keep me going.

So guys, how'd it do? Might I be better off ditching the ADS for another four tonnes cargo?

Thank you.

Looks great to me. I'd keep the ADS. It's often useful for missions, and you don't have to drop into the Nav Beacon to scan it, which saves time and is safer. Plus you'll get exploration data everywhere you go, and it adds up.

My thinking exactly. Just wanted to see if the opinion was shared.

That's a pretty good build.

Definitely yes for the collector limpits, scooping for the lower level missions is fine, but any that have an ambush will be very tricky doing it manually. You might want to consider a higher grade limpet controller, as this means you can send out multiple limpits at a time. My experience is that if there is an ambush, I can usually get a couple of items before I need to get out. The USS will spawn again and you can go back in and get the remaining items you need.

Personally I have never needed an ADS for this kind of mission, and my only other thought on your build is that of defense capability. The Cobra is a terrific ship, but has very light shields, and the ambushes that you can expect from these missions are often quite brutal, three or four strong ships firing on you pretty much from the get go. If your shields go, then a basic hull will only last a few seconds under those circumstances. For that reason, I ended up putting in an SCB, and also military grade hulls, but that is just my play style.

The problem is my Cobra needs the fuel scoop, if I get a positive reaction on another thread. that being the case, I'll only have room for the 1A.

As for the survival boosts, well, that's something I need to look into.

Yes, I understand that. I have a fuel scoop on all my ships, but since I don't use the Cobra for surface salvage, I have an extra slot...

As I said, in principal a good build. What you might consider is to use module storage so that if you are doing a space based salvage you leave out the SRV hangar and replace it with HRP or SCB.

Whatever, try it out and see what works best for you and your play style. You should only experience ambushes on quite high ranking missions, generally the ones that pay over 500-600K. :)

I've actually requested a thread lock. Nothing you've done, but I had another idea that makes this conversation moot.

Thanks of course for your feedback. The principle you mention has impacted my new build.
