I'd love to see this as a possibility...

I'd like to see an offer to adopt injured animals and rehabilitate them if possible. I used to live in Anchorage, Alaska and nearly all the animals in that zoo were ones that had been truly rescued from unfortunate circumstances in the wild or ones that had been abandoned by their mothers. Or ones that had wandered into the city and had to be temporary visitors to the zoo.

There were several birds of prey that had a home there including bald eagles who could not live in the wild any longer because of injuries, not all of them could fly any more and they were in aviaries where we got the rare experience of seeing them up close.

The only animals I knew that weren't rescued were the elephants... Yes, that's right. Elephants in Alaska zoo!
