General Idea: A proper exploration specialized SRV

Currently we have:

  • Scorpion SRV: designed for combat.
  • Scarab SRV: stated for exploration but is honestly more of general use SRV within "civilized" space.
What I propose is a more specialized SRV for exploration, modifications may include:

  • Lasers removed from turret and replaced with a version of the Abrasion Blaster.
    • Intention is to remove all damage to players / ships with weapon. Possibly inducing knockback though.
    • Intention is to provide a way to still pick up new minor deposits of cargo for extended-duration exploration in the black.
  • Removing all large cargo space
    • Again, not intended for normal surface runs on missions and the like but for pure exploration.
  • tuning the wave-scanner for picking up biological signals. (Four potential mods)

      • Providing a configurable bar for identifying if you are within the blue zone of a given species.
    • Diversity Link
      • As an addition to the above, would go purple when insufficient distance from the previous sample.
      • More QOL since it just prevents having to get out, realize you aren't far enough away, get back in and keep driving.
    • Sample Scanner
      • Provides returns from biological signals within render distance.
    • Limited Target Tuning
      • Since we already don't have any weapons, we can re-use the current detailed targeting system for tuning the scanner for different signal types (Biological Species, Geological Signals, & Material Samples). But only one at a time, or all at once while at lower range.
I think that this would nicely add a third option for SRV's that would fill in a niche that is currently unfilled without making the current SRV's seem less useful.

I'm looking forward to the idea being torn apart to see what improvements everyone else can make to the concept so please give any constructive feedback on the idea you can.
