Idea for a tropical bird (aviary?) pack

So this is something I have been mulling over for awhile, I don’t think we will ever get true flying birds. Which is a shame, as bird houses are some of my favorite places to visit in zoos. I also love tropical buildings, the idea that as you look at some of the animal habitats inside you can watch a multitude of animals move above you. So it made me think, how could I get this to work in Planet Zoo? Some adjustments would have to be made with these birds, in the same way the aquatic pack changed diving animals or how brachiation changed up the gibbons and orangutan. But otherwise the birds should work in game, especially because I tried to pick species that will spend time perching as well as on the ground. Feel free to offer suggestions though!

So with that said these would be my 12 animals, focusing on South America, Africa, and Asia:

  1. White Faced Whistling Duck
  2. Scarlet Ibis
  3. Roseate Spoonbill
  4. Sunbittern
  5. Boat-billed Heron
  6. Yellow Billed Stork
  7. Hamerkop
  8. Congo Peafowl
  9. Painted Stork
  10. Red Jungle Fowl
  11. Nicobar Pigeon
  12. Waldrapp Ibis

With that said, you can use these birds in 3 distinct tropical houses (this also have me an excuse to draw):

So while some of these choices may seem strange, they are based on real zoos I have visited. The African section is based on the Tropical House from Franklin Park Zoo, while the Asia section was based on Jungle World at the Bronx Zoo. The South American birds are more based on a mixture of places I have seen and been to. Also outside of the three sections you can make, you also get a bonus two other sections to make:
  1. The Scarlet Ibis and Roseate Spoonbill can work in a Florida Everglades exhibit.
  2. The Hamerkop and White Faced Whistling Ducks are also native to Madagascar so you can incorporate them in with the lemurs.
Outside of that I envisioned a number of other changes, so this may be a bit more like a light expansion than a basic pack.
  1. Adds a new nest box and nest stand as sheltered habitats
  2. Adds new mesh pieces, and natural looking climbing pieces
  3. Keepers can now “reach” any food items in the habitat with Long-Sticks™️, so you no longer have to keep food items on the ground. This will also benefit every other climbing animal.
  4. These birds, including the peacock, can now use the climbing pieces. Inspired by the clouded leopard moon jump, they can “fly” (its just a special animated jump) up to 16m to a climbable piece, and can “fly” (long jump) to other pieces to a max of length of 16m. This way you can have the birds also use climbing pieces, allowing you to create tropical houses with birds high into the air.
Feel free to offer suggestions, but this was just a fun think piece of how to get some of my favorite places in Zoos to work with the limitations of Planet Zoo!

While I don’t see this happening, your drawings are very well done!
