Idea for being able to carry more ammo

Instead of an actual module, it would make much more sense to have a cargo rack and be able to buy surplus ammo as a consumable commodity. Let’s say 1T of ammunition is good for one or two clips of ammo. Bonus mechanic would be target the cargo rack / use a hatch breaker, and watch the surplus ammo explode, dealing considerable damage to the pilot’s ship.
I know, I know, “Useless mechanic! Just synthesize more! There’s no need for it!” But I beg to differ. It bothers me that some of you would rather have no new content, just because all the ideas and suggestions don’t have a positive effect on you. Let us PvE players have this.
Also, I get the whole synthesize conundrum but do you go out and milk a cow every time you need milk or do you buy it in a store and keep it in your fridge, readily available for when you need it? Same idea goes with my purchasable ammo surplus idea.

Then as players we should be able to target the Ammo Cargo rack and make your ship Explode.

Here a better idea. Why not mix up your weapons some. Like, Add some lasers to help in combat. We also have synthesis ammo. Yes I know you don't like it but the mats are so easy to collect now. Engineering weapons to have Extended ammo clips.

Yeah, OP! Blaze your own trail by restricting your loadout options and playing a specific way!

(Just increase ammo for most weapons 20-50% to make things like cannons and shock cannons viable in a High intensity Conflict Zone. Synthesis would still be useful, just not as often.)

Just think of Materials as the 'money' you receive for your labour, which you can then exchange for ammo (labour-money-milk). The extra ammo is just stored in your ship in the form of Materials, ready to be loaded whenever you need it.

Why the hell not. Its a sane idea. We can 3d print ammo from scraps (which we have in our quantum based omni-dimensional storage compartment) and magically transfer this to our guns. But we can't bring extra ammo if we so choose? Doesn't make sense.

Edit: Also, why not weapon energy charges (like shield charges) now that we're at it. Should probably be a dedicated module, with the opportunity to reload charges using synth (or "batteries" from cargo hold).

I like it, as well as using H-Fuel in cargo to refuel your ship. Both should take some time. For resupplying ammo I like the idea of having to stow your weapon for examply (which also should top off any magazines from the reserve ... having a multicannon with 5/90 is does not feel nice to start a fight with, even if it is only one reload over the fight.
