Why not log of their travels and put a wreck in the game with the log on it. This way everyone who wanted to be immortalised in game can be and it will give the game yet another angle.
Imagine Cmdr's flying to each site paying homage to those that went before and reading their antics and exploits in the game much like the wrecks out there it would give the game much more in game content.
