Idea for the upcoming Landing on planet expansion

Here's something that I'd love to see when we get to land on planets, to be able to go underwater to explore even more and also to see water mess with sensors so you can hide from other ships.

With or without underwater feature, ED is a blast and I'm glad my job and my wife stops me from getting completely addicted.

Not a bad idea. Reminds me of a Star Fox 64 mission. We could potentially search for underwater mineral nodules or exotic life in exchange for credits.

Not bad but broadly more?

wouldn't be a bad idea just the hiding thing would be hard considering the fact that ship sensors are meant to detect things up too 250 Ls's away so they wouldn't have a problem with detecting a micro thermal signature underwater ;) buuuut idk if anyone has said anything would be the colonization of possible worlds in uncharted systems :D cuz like i'd love to make a player based faction (or like a alliance of corporations similar to eve online) to where you can build stations, recruit NPC pilots to make fleets and colonize/terraform possible worlds. and clearly there is ancient tech(even tho always stolen for me XD) that something of this sorts should be possible <.< this in my opinion would add a massive more depth too what players can do :D adds more PvP too if people are looking for it ;)

I was actually thinking temperature drop, but then I realized space is a LOT colder than any given waters… after I posted of course.
Still like the idea of broadening the exploration scope, though

Well technically a ship would lose its heat much faster in cold water than in space, where heat takes forever to radiate.

It's already featured in the fiction. In fact I'm fairly sure that the Orca and the Dolphin (the Orca's bigger brother) are both underwater capable!

agreed it would be cool xD but either way my point was sensors would just be strong enough that hiding would be nearly pointless <.< love that last pic btw XD

Nitpickinig I know, but why would the Dolphin be the bigger of the two ships? Isn't there a Beluga as well?
