Idea for Valve Headsets and Steam VR

Within Steam VR, if it’s there already slap me because I can’t find it, could we have an entry to Map a Key/s to Passthrough Cameras on the Headset?
Why?
I currently enjoy playing Elite Dangerous in VR, there are times Keyboard entry is the most sensible way to enter a System Name to search for etc. up to now that works only by peeking under the headset and entering keyboard by giving yourself an awkward squint. (Pancake view is available on the monitor) then pulling the Headset back over my eyes.

As a matter of in game immersion and elegance, binding the aforementioned system keypress then to Voice Attack “Keyboard” would bring up or activate/deactivate Pass Through. As I said, a matter of elegance.

Reasonably sure this would be utilised in game/s by more than just me.

I’d say this is something for the VR headset software to implement, not FDev.

With my Quest 3 I have passthrough enabled as a double-tap on the side of the headset - a quick Google says that the system button on the bottom of the Valve HMD can be set up to do the same with a double press once you’ve enabled passthrough in SteamVR settings.

Does that work for your headset?
