Idea - greatest price discount if Ship is '' sponsorized ''

Idea - greatest price discount if Ship is '' sponsored ''

I had this great idea:

fact: bigger ships in game has annoying prices, you must grind like mad and then all your dedicated time could vanish in less then a second smashing
your precious ship on a station's wall at the first slip.
Also to grind to buy a ship shouldn't be the main objective of the game (why ? because a gameplay like that is very boring).
so... here is my idea:

Normally, the ship's costs can stay as actually is it. nothing to change.

BUT

if you land on an (for example) imperial station you could find an (in this case) Imperial sponsored ship
that costs 1/10 of the normal price.

What does it means ''imperial sponsored ship'':

it means that is perpetually aligned with that faction and you cannot (for example) do any opposite faction duty
and until you play with that ship your rank will increase only for that faction (the empire in this case).

it doesn't matter the kind of ship (Delacy, Lakon, etc..)
any ship can be 'sponsored' and the cost is very low.

That would be great in the next phases of the game once Devs will introduce bigger and bigger ships even for commercial uses
where the cost prices could be very very high wihout a sponsorization.

And for 'faction' i don't mean only empire/fed/alliance but also commercial guilds (NPC guilds, maybe not really joinable by players)
or for pirates (on pirate's stations ofc).

sponsorized

1) The term you were looking for is sponsored.
2) I don't think it's a good idea. If you make the ships any cheaper, everyone will be flying the anaconda after playing for a couple days. I have just managed to by and kit out a Viper (I can only get a few hours game play in a week) and it's great... it should take time between ships!

*thanks for the correct term

may be some other specific handicap can be added to the sponsored ship - for example:

if you buy a sponsored ship everything you gain by now with that ship has a 20% tax and you cannot change anymore ship for 1 (or 2) week (destruction apart).

and may be , for powerful ships like the anaconda, there will be not a sponsored version of it.
or may be... (better idea) whatever powerful ship you'll buy that is sponsored it will have an unique configuration that you cannot modify...
so with a powerful ship like the anaconda you can have (maybe) only a commercial configuration (very poor in defence).

Maybe not this proposal exactly, but what about if you could take missions that involve you flying a ship that isn't your own. Allowing people without the necessary funds to have a flavour of what an Anaconda is like, should they want to see.

Especially when even larger ships come along.

agrees with you sterlino, but not all.

Only a few ships should be for sale by places, and ships available could depends on the local's governing power.

imperial space have ships that are more associated with imperial, the same with federation, which is known to have more diversity of ship than empire.

and yeah your loyalty to a superpower could grant you a discount for a ship :) :) :) :)

This is an interesting idea, could be an optional 1 time mission connected to each faction rank progression.. you fail on death or if the mission timer runs out.. at which point the ship self destructs! :)

I pass on the idea. Just because 1/10 is overkill It caters to hold my hand group. That are unwilling to work for their ships.
