Idea of new beginning

Do you guys remember Interplanetary shuttle from frontier ? I just tought that it would be grat fun to begin game with something very basic and simple. For example as rover cargo hauler on some rocky planet in the end of bubble. 100 cr in wallet and a rover - thats all. Next ship would be kind of interplanetary shuttle for cargo/taxi missions. Just an idea :)

Sry for bad english :)

Not a bad idea at all, I must say! :)

I like the idea!

I always loved slow and hard starts in computer games - when every decision really matters and the future is bright and promising - but still far away! :)

As soon as my VR headset has arrived and 2.1 is launched, I wil reset my commander and start anew (who wants my stuff?)... and I am already a little bit annoyed by the fact that there is a "Freagle" somewhere waiting for me and also a Viper mk IV ('Mercenary'-backer here).
Yes, I know that I can simply ignore these ships or "sell" them for zero credits (as they are only loaned, as far as I know).

But having no other choice or deliberately ignoring an available advantage are two different things - at least in my personal sensation.

I dont think they will do it (it's in a long list!), but it's a grand idea. Would certainly make for a change of pace and style of play, especially if they work in a mining SRV - which I strongly suspect they will at some point.

I supposed that im not first with this idea , but i assume that if it is in long list changes, this wont happen fast :(

The Freagle isn't a loan, you'll get full price if you sell it.

.... And the Viper MkIV is a "one time only", which means that is you reset your save, you won't have a free Viper MkIV waiting at Barnard's Star.

I doubt this kind of starting option will ever appear, but you can sort of play it that way : new Horizons players appeared on the surface of Asellus Primus A2. I don't know what happens to previous pilots, but maybe if you reset your save you'll appear at Asellus Primus instead of LHS 3445.

If that's the case, the starting Sidewinder will have a SRV bay, so just accept a surface salvage mission, launch the SRV, drive until you find a POI that has the stuff you're looking for, go back to the ship, complete the mission, and do it again until you have 32k credits.

Then, when you have enough for a standard Sidewinder, take off, fly to the nearest startport, and trade your loaned Sidey (that you will only use for this travel) for a brand new Sidewinder that you paid for.
