Ships Ideal Combat loadout

Hola all. I'm looking at purchasing a clipper as i've just gotten around to the rank, but I'm kind of wary on the builds. I know the shields aren't as good as the pythons, however, the ship makes up for what it lacks in shielding in its speed and turning. This is what i've put together so far:
I'm thinking about fitting some beam lasers in place of the pulses, along with just dropping the 7 class Shield generator for a Class 6a and put in max thrusters and sensors...any suggestions and advice?

Your kinetics should be large so they do not suffer any damage penalties against larger ships.
Unless you're disgusting and just pulse down the powerplant. In that case, disregard.
.
You have way too many boosters. Drop a pair for chaff launchers. You will see much more survivability from 22 loads of chaff vs. the 120MJ the boosters will give you. Take the thrusters. Push the shield generator up as well.

Unless i'm disgusting? What the heck does that mean?

It means that your kinetic weapons should be on large slots and your thermal weapons should be on me unless you just pulse down the powerplant (if this is the case, I think you are disgusting and you should disregard the preceding statements).

what he actually said was that if you are smart enough to hurt at the optimal spot on your enemy, then he would not see you as a human being because it's to easy

regarding your spec it's a classic clipper build, the only things i would advice are a kill warrant scanner to double your income, and maybe in the smallest internal an interdictor to do some missions sometimes, it's refreshing and some of them pay really well

It's specifically the pulse laser bit that I can't stand. I mean seriously - at that point there's no reason to even bring multi-cannons.

Out of interest. What can't you stand about pulse lasers?

Is it something religious?
Avid cannon and frag cannon user. Boils my blood when I see people in their whatevers swimming around poking power plants with their pulse lasers.

So ridiculous, But I'M not blaming you.

Imagine this scenario in star wars.

Leia : HAN they're shooting us !!
Han: Don't worry.. I have stacked 50 SBC ! So they can shoot at me for hours .. and I Just keep repopping them.
Leia: It's a shame nobody has ever developped an anti SCB weapons or gadget...
Han: Shhh. Don't tell the empire. My Multi-purpose ship is only good because of all those compartment !

How are we to take you seriously with these silly emotional prejudices?

Last I checked dead was dead, good to know you've that high horse at the dock though, won't feel bad blowing up your ship with my disgusting tactics.

C3 beams and F2 multis to chew through most ships. If that's not enough I boost outta there. SCBs in a class 3 or 4 slot makes a good fit. But seriously, are you going to forego a scanner for a measly 2 SCB? Or conversely, settle for a lesser distributor or generator for a measly 2 more SCB? That kinda limits your ships capability. I fill 2 class 3 SCB and 2 shield boosters. 3 weapons pips will take out anything up to a vulture in one pass usually

so far with every ship ive always just put fixed pulse everywhere (mainly prejudiced against gimballed because requires no aiming, whats a dogfight if i don/t even need to aim the guns myself? as for guns with ammo, well running out in combat zones is annoying) but i have a feeling that might not work well on that one. Just bought my clipper last night, was looking for a thread like this. I guess i need to test things out for myself.

I'm going to try something a little different, but not as a pure combat build but as a multipurpose

Kinetics on left, lasers on right. I could swap the burst for a pulse and add a second weaker 2E SCB instead of the extra fuel to work in tandem with the first. Still only 5 boosts but each about 50% stronger.

Currently though I'm using C3 beam/pulse and C2 multicannons

just remember that the guns are very far apart on the Clipper, so its hard to use fixed guns with great success on this one.. :)

Ended up not liking the C3 Cannon setup - too slow for reliable hits. Bit the bullet to go C3 Gimbled Pulse instead so I could use this mix.

I was surprisingly pleased by it. Didn't run out of ammo nearly as quickly as I'd have thought, walked away from a CZ with a mill and a half before needing to reload.

A similar question earlier led me to some spirited discussion with regards to the best kit a clipper can carry around overall, among people who have spent absurd amount of combat hours either bounty hunting or pirating in these damn things.

consensus: two large gimballed pulse lasers. two medium gimballed multicannons, or two more medium gimballed pulse lasers.

the four lasers build is less kind on your power output but the tradeoff is not having to worry about anything short of instant hitscan.

it's boring but what can you do ay ay *uses 24th consecutive shield cell in combat*
