The Challenge mode grind could use some TLC, in my opinion. I love the Sabotage mechanic: the narrative events need more prominence. I'd like to broaden the Scientists menu out some more, to include Rangers and Veterinarians. In the early game, you'd be able to place your Response Facility, which would come with the two standard Jeeps. The helipad and chopper should be a mid-game addition, available for research once a certain animal population is reached. I really loved tranquilizing dinosaurs from the Jeep in the first game, and I don't see the need to divide these functions among the different vehicles.
In order to have ranger patrols, you'd need to first hire a Ranger like you do with Scientists. Otherwise, you have to drive the Jeep yourself. The Paleo Medical facility would be repurposed as a Medical Laboratory, where you can hire Veterinary personnel to develop treatments for your dinosaurs. I'd ditch the MVU, and allow Vet staff to take a Jeep out to treat the animal in the field. If the ailment is severe, they can be tranquilized and airlifted to the med lab. Perhaps a late-game achievement could be a Vet being trained up to treat such severe ailments in the field, saving time and money. Imagine, then, that your vet takes a Jeep out to medicate a Triceratops, and ends up getting attacked and seriously injured. * URGENT MESSAGE * So-And-So has been injured on the job! Pay the medical leave or fire them for negligence?
I'd also love to bring back the Greenhouse from the first game. You would have to gather fossils of paleo-flora for your Scientists to reconstruct and grow in the Greenhouse, to be planted in a paddock while your Stegosaurus is being incubated. This brings me to my favorite idea: Charters. The Expedition Center should have a Charter menu. Move the fossil research to here. In order to unlock a dig site, you have to choose from a list of Charters from your investors who want to see certain species in the park. These would work similarly to Contracts, where once completed you receive a nice sum of money. Accepting a charter would grant you access to the necessary sites for the species and, for herbivores, its preferred flora as well.
