Having dabbled in numerous hobbies and having multiple ships, I've run into a lot of tedium involving relocating my 'home' station and having to move 2-3 ships from one system to another. The current process looks something like this:
1. Fly first ship to new station.
2. Buy a Hauler at the new station, strip it down and equip it with a decent FSD and maybe a scoop/extra fuel tank
3. Fly back to old station
4. Change ships, sell the hauler, repeat.
To reduce that, there are two things that I'd love to see in game:
Fast CMDR Travel:
While at a station with a shipyard, we should be able to hire a shuttle service that instantly moves us to any other station we have a ship docked at. This move only moves the CMDR - the ship, any cargo or exploration data stay behind -- so it can't be used as an easy way to transfer cargo/etc. This can have a cost based on total distance traveled and perhaps other factors at the source and destination systems. (Lower security systems may charge more due to risk, allied factions may charge less since they like you, etc.)
Optionally, this can have a cooldown or increasing costs over time to avoid abuse.
Also optionally, this could be made usable somehow from any ship that is landed on a planetary surface. This would give Explorers a way to "take a break" from an Exploration trip to participate in some other activity, though I can't think of a lore explanation for how it would work. (What's the lore explanation for respawning after ship destruction, anyways?)
Ship Relocation Service
While at a station, offer a service that can move any of your ships to that station provided a suitable-sized landing pad exists. This can have a cost based on distance and other factors (ship cost?), and renders that ship unavailable for a period of time (also based on distance) before it arrives at the target station.
The time cost of this should be long enough to mean moving the ship yourself is always faster, but short enough where it's still worth doing for the CMDR who's moving a small fleet to their new base but doesn't need every ship immediately.
