Putting forward some ideas for potential surface vehicles to round out roster aside from Scarab SRV.
A dedicated cargo vehicle. Squared off cab with excellent visibility, and 4T cargo space, but limited speed, agility and only a single repeater.
A similar variant on the cargo design, could be a miner, with tiny refinery and mining laser, but would require new surface mining mechanics
A dedicated combat vehicle (I would even suggest federal styling on this, or at least federal variant be available)
This would have the cockpit in the turret structure (with switch from driving mode to turret mode retaining same viewpoint) and carries a medium weapon in addition to a repeater, with weapon options for cannon, railgun, or plasma cannon. Nil cargo, and limited thrusters, but tough.
Federal variant could have similar cockpit to Condor, with broad turret body having similar top-down profile to the wheelbase. Would essentially be a low, flat gun turret on wheels/treads.
A skimmer scout, with twin repeaters fitted directly to the nose, but is capable of strafing side-to-side. No cargo, but fast and able to move over rough terrain with very little difficulty. fitted with enhanced datalink scanner.
This would also be the go-to race vehicle.
A heavy skimmer (I'd want this as imperial option)
similar to scout, but trades raw speed for up-rated shields and an additional medium weapon, also nose-mounted. Essentially a counterpart to the federal variant design, but trades hull for shield, and hull-down tankiness for agility.
These are my suggestions, perhaps a bit predictable or unimaginative. I'd like a wider range of non-combat vehicles, or at least ones with combat as a secondary role. Unfortunately there just isn't a lot to do planetside in SRVs at the time being. What surface vehicles would you suggest?
