Ideas for the game

I know this is PROBABLY gonna get a lot of negative comments, but i wanna voice my idea anyway.

This idea stems from planetside 2, srv based, base buliding.

Yes i know you guys are giving people bases in colonia. But wouldnt it be nice, with all the planets out there, to have a base that you can build on a planet and a system and start a new colony? Wouldnt it be nice to have a base that could be grown, attacked, defended? Wouldnt it be nice to see the creativity of the players that inhabit your game?

I think that it would be a nice addition.

i did say i was taking the idea from planetside 2, thats why i gave them credit for it lol

I think it was in reference to the 3,272,191 times this has been brought up on the forums rather than from other games.

The accepted response is, this is a space exploration sim not "insert base building and defending game of your choice here."

It's like playing CIV4 and then asking why you can't hop into a space ship and go exploring the galaxy. You can't put everything into one game.

So, why shouldnt we have this? The "space exploration sim" excuse is actually very very poor. If you explore, k cool fine, you explore, if you do combat, k cool u do combat. If you trade, k cool you do trade, and i can go on and on.

The developers said "No."
However, in order for the players to have the opportunity to build settlements on distant worlds, there are all prerequisites. Recently, to the game was added a "mega ships", I believe, in order to colonize remote systems, a bit later. Ships not yet available for many reasons (move (agility - jump range) / damage at collision / cost of construction / cost of the exploitation (staff - resources) / organization (Guild maintenance) and many others), but "ships" already is.
It is also worth noting, the "modularity" of all the structures in the game, it only remain to add editor.
Before the "Estate" will appear in the game, first must be prepared all related contents, including move "on foot". For what purpose you need a building, if it is possible to look on it only from the outside?

The developers have heard this request many times. Have faith and patience. Someday, maybe.

P.S. At the title says: "Ideas for the game", in addition to "base construction", what ELSE would you like to suggest? :D

Of course there are pre-requisets. Who said that there wouldnt be? This would honestly be a great addition considering...well...you know....400 BILLION STAR SYSTEMS. Considering they MADE the game, it is well well in their power to add this including everything needed about it. Also the addition of "guilds/space equivilant name for guilds" would help with community and help thousands and thousands of players to communicate and grow the community also in the end, it would help free up some of the work that frontier has to do with approval of certain groups, approval of a base in a certain location, creation of the base, etc. Like the end goal would actually probably have more pros than cons because think about it. Base building and guilds freed up some some work for Frontier, which they can translate into tackling some pressing issues *cough*powerplay*cough* etc. Also, i shall, bring up the face that no...you dont need space legs to do this. It would give SRV's something FAR MORE INTERESTING than just mining on planets, it actually will give more use to the stuff you find on planets as well.

I had another idea!!!!!

To add to the base building concept, frontier can make it to where the bases are actually a combination of the landable planet stations AND the research facilities on the planets. They can change the intel packages to datacores that take up 1 storage space *cause srv*. Buy buying or creating the data cores you can upgrade your base to include different features. Say for example you wanted to put a refuling/reparing base out on the neutron highway, you'd get the materials you need and start building, you need to get a Repair Facility Data Core to enable your base to be able to build a repair facility and you'll need a Fuel Depot Data Core to be able to build a fuel depot to allow for refuling (the data cores would be stored in a shielded base building plan that you have access too without having to do anything but gather materials on a planet like iron or something, call it the data core assembly rig or data core storage facility, it comes with its own power generator that you cant change the position of, the shield prevents anyone but people that have access to the base/high enough privelages with the faction that owns it) It would work with other features you want to add to your base.

ON TOP OF THAT, they can add an entirely new element to the bases on the planets (not the landable ones) Instead of just going there and killing things to scan a series of data points to get an intel packag that doesnt tell you anything, you can make it to where a few tier 3 security bases hold information that can royally screw up the powerplay factions by revealing secerets that they have. Like say for example the federation keeping tabs on its own citizens which can cause an uprising in the federal ranks, or that the empire has a gulag somewhere out in space like in quince or something that they hold secret that can cause an uprising of the citizens all throughout the empire space on different planets that want to put an end to the reign of torval for queen or something like that, or even further the alien story. Theres soooooo much that can be done with this that it just gives me shivers.
