Ideas for updates and events

EVENTS
-Supernova events.
A supernova event is announced in a concrete system of the galaxy. There is a countdown.

Supernova can be safely observed from the neighbour systems.

Before the explosión we can observe unic events in the system. Alteration of physics, star growth, and some other things that maybe can generate rare items for collecting or achievements.

Ships in the system during the explosion will be destroyed. FC will auto jump to the closest system. Achievement - Killed by a Supernova 🤣

After the explosion, we can visit the destroyed system, maybe a dead star, destroyed planets (imagine a half planet), lots of asteroids, and some inorganic materials for collecting, or to be able to mine asteroids from the planets metal cores.

- Wormhole event.

A Wormhole is spotted and announced. This allows the connection with a distant point in the galaxy. Players are able to use it for exploring on the other side, also colonize.

After some weeks/few months, the wormhole gets unstable and a countdown starts until it dissapears. Imagine people who dont returns, or decide to start they new life in the new colonized systems there...

New animation for the jump across the wormhole.
Sphere gate like in Interstellar film.

- Invasion events / massive battles.
Regarding PP.
A faction decides to take the control of a system by the brutal force.
The invasion is announced and the countdown starts.
Allied squadrons prepare for the epic battle. Each faction brings their flagship.
The attacking faction has a meeting point in a close system. Once the countdown ends, all ships jumps at the same time to the battle location.
After the jump, the battle inmediately starts.
Players can jump their FC and battle in their ships. FC can be used for support in the battle but also can be destroyed and rebought.
NPC ships spawn for each faction.
Once your ship or FC is destroyed it cannot jump back to the system until the battle ends.
If your FC is destroyed, you must pay the rebuy (500M).
Once a faction wins the battle, that decides if the system has been conquered or successfully defended.

That everybody with a FC can bring it maybe it is not viable.
Then we have the option that squadrons can have their own flagship and buy upgrades for it.
The flagship is the only mega ship that a squadron can bring.

I discovered ED after playing hundreds of hours to NMS and Starfield. I prefer by far ED, but it lacks some features from the others games that i would like to see implementer in the future to become the best space game.

From NMS
-New music for different situations. Improve the inmersion through the music.
-Base building.

From starfiled.
-Base building with commodities production and automation.
-Daisy chains and trading routes.
-Improvement of the "shooter" features. More weapons, suites, complements, random locations on landable planets, more looting activities, more rpg features in general.
-Board enemy ships. Be able to disable the enemy ship system and board it. Awesome feature.

Thats all. Hope you like my ideas.

The problem with this is that Elite runs in a (fairly) realistic model of our galaxy so a Supernova event would be a one time event in the entire life of the game. Depending on how close they are neighbouring systems wouldn’t actually be all that safe.

Variations of this have been suggested quite often over the life of the game, often with a request that the wormhole leads to a whole new galaxy to explore, ours is less than 0.06% explored.

FC jump times approach the two hour jump is unavailable limit due to the number of simultaneous jumps. FC locations have to be carefully rewritten into the code every time they move. Just like any other station.

I have yet to discover those games but
From NMS

The immersion through the soundscape in ED is superb as it is and doesn’t need hiding behind more music.
-Base building.
Just no, that is what an FC is and they can be moved.
From starfiled.

Bigger no.
-Daisy chains and trading routes.
-Improvement of the "shooter" features. More weapons, suites, complements, random locations on landable planets, more looting activities, more rpg features in general.
It isn’t an RPG, it doesn’t need to be turned into one.
-Board enemy ships. Be able to disable the enemy ship system and board it. Awesome feature.
There is a long thread about this in the discussion forum, it is becoming a bit tedious to be honest, Ship Interiors Will They Happen.
