I had to look up what Star Blazers was... Uchuu Senkan Yamato (haven't seen it yet, saw one of the movies though).


Pink explosions (Gundam). We need pink explosions.

They already basically based the BGS on Legend of the Galactic Heroes... need the large scale fleet mechanics though. 20,000 ships...

Crazy rogue AI space colonies and cute space suits (Sora Kake Girl).

Space Chihuahuas (Uchuu Senkan Tiramisù)... so the explorers have something to find out there.
