Idiot mistake #426

So there I am, taking off from Hardy Hub on yet another mission for Sirius Corp.
"ooh, look, ringed planet next to sun, next to planet, next to station... screenshot time!"
I slowly and awkwardly work the external camera into position. When all of a sudden...
"under attack"... "ack! what?!?"... "shields offline"... "arghhh!! boost! BOOST! FSD!!!(crap, mass-locked)"... "eject, eject, eject"

Ugh, what a moron. You'd think they would have given me a warning for blocking the pad. I guess outposts are more impatient than stations.
Funny thing is I was just chuckling a few min earlier about a station voiceover referring to loitering as terroristic acts. [haha]

I then followed that up by idiot mistake #427.
Rebuy, take off, and head back to Davy Dock to hand in my missions.
Wait, what's going on? Why can't I hand in my missions?
Oh that's right, you died you dummy, all that mission cargo went boom.

But hey, at least I got a 7 mil credit screenshot out of the deal. lol (and no, it's not a good shot)
Me thinks it's time for a little break. Apparently I'm losing focus. Gonna go watch the broncos/panthers game. :)

That's a money shot if there ever was one. :S

Somehow I knew people were going to ask to see it.

In my defense, I was still trying to pan out and around to get a better angle.... [ugh]

Usually not so much "cargo go boom" or you could just buy more and then turn in the mission. Usually there is a caveat in the mission brief explaining that those particular tons of doo-doo are unique and irreplaceable, so if you get blown up you cannot just buy replacement doo-doo and turn in the mission. Mission fail!

Yeah, they were supply run missions. So I could have bought more cargo right after the rebuy.
...IF I wasn't an idiot and forgot about that. [wacky]

Well, I just found a silver lining in all this.
Since I lost all my cargo, including the engineer commodities I've been hauling around forever, I can finally put away the python and dust off the vulture.
Time to pew-pew the frustrations away. :)

What ship has 7 mil insurance and can't survive 30 sec of NPC fire?
BTW photo is pretty nice, though not worth the cost :D

When the "NPC" is a station, not many will survive it.
Oh, I forgot :D
Well, then you need this:
*here i wanted to paste video with modded cutter that survived 5 mins of station fire without firing single cellbank, but I can't find it!*

Yeah, one of the few. ;)
Though i think they've buffed the stations since then. Not sure even a cutter lasts too long anymore. Though definitely longer than my python. :p
