As well as loving Space Sims I brew my own beer!

I started with kits (the large tins of sludge) and now I use malt, hops etc just like a real brewery!

I was thinking of creating a brew ready for when Elite: Dangerous is released in March 2014. But what do I brew?

Would Elite be a pale, hoppy summer type beer or a dark, rich winter warmer or even a Porter/Stout?

Maybe somewhere in the middle, a nicely rounded English IPA?

What do people think?

I've put a poll up for 60 days. I will create something similar to whichever is the most popular in time for the release. If anyone wants some, they'll have to visit me as it doesn't go through the mail very well!

Suggestions for a name would be great too... 'Braben Brew' or 'Brookes Beer'. Obviously I'm better at brewing than coming up with names...

Oh it has to be a stout.

Actually, perhaps sacrilegious to the poll and to the fact that FD is an English Company, but I would equate Elite with a fine Belgian trappist beer. Rochefort 10 would be a fitting choice. Not much advertising and fuzz with these. When you try one for the first time you might feel a bit quizzical but you never forget it and you'd want another try. The second bottle, and it's one of your favourites. Much like the original games. :)

Alas, I voted for porter/stout, as I would presume those are the closest thing.

I'm not a connoisseur of beer, but I would say that an Elite beer should be classy, have good taste and be distinctly British (or if you're not into that P.C. nonsense, English)

Not a beer drink so I cant offer an example but the resulting drink will be watered down and mixed with other liquids making it undrinkable, all in an attempt to make something for everything that no one can enjoy.

Ouch. Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel.

I'll just shut up and sit over there in that corner

What'd you do this time................ Alien!

It was the word "drunk" used in the context that Pyskokow used it ... seemed wrong ...
So I looked it up, and sure enough, "drunk" isn't the correct word for what he was trying to say, but there isn't really a better alternative ... drank? ... we will drink?

So I'll just sit in the corner over there and shut up.

I'd go with porter. Dark, complex, nutty - a bit of an acquired taste. Doesn't leave a bitter taste in the mouth, though, and... why am I so thirsty all of a sudden?

I'm also an occasional brewer, but must admit to using the tins. Sometimes I make fruit wine too, from scratch. Nothing that could be called 'Elite', but some of it may be deserving of 'Dangerous', or even 'Deadly'.

If someone were to create an Elite cider then I'd be all over that.

I don't drink any more, but for a beer to be like Elite Dangerous well... it would have to match it on sheer scale and possibilities of fun and adventure. So a vat of beer so tantalisingly sweet, scary, crazy, dark and mysterious that makes you want to keep coming back for more and more and more. With no hangover. Ever.

There is no beer like that.. This makes me sad - well it would if I still drunk / drank / beer...
