Will a scan of a planet still reveal ground bases?

That's encouraging. I only *need* an ADS to get the Colonia Highway bases onto my mapping.

Material details not needed for me.

I scanned a system, and did an extra scan on a landable planet, but didn't see anything but the grid. Bug or me being a fool and missing something?

I may be wrong but I seem to remember getting close to a planet and the ADS did a further passive scan giving more data. I,m not sure what that data was but I think it included an image.

I'll run some tests tomorrow, when I can get on.

Difference is an ADS scans entire system so you know where the objects are. Then you can go and scan each object for a level 2 scan, just gives you basic data on the object. A DSS gives you a lot level 3 scan, increasing the value of data, plus all the info about the object. But a DSS is not needed unless you are looking for specific materials to hunt in an srv.
