Even if it was for that time for Dominion, it wouldn’t make any good financial sense.I am excited but a bit cautious, mainly because the 2021 release date took me by surprise, as I thought this would be a 2022 product to launch alongside dominion. JWE did come out a bit undercooked, but at least based on their descriptions, it looks to be a more complete experience this time around. Hopefully, we could see some gameplay footage soon. The pictures do look stunning at least![]()
Even during the entirety of the COVID-19 pandemic, this game was confirmed to be for FY22 (June 1, 2021 - May 31, 2022) since November 15, 2019. It still held true in subsequent reports up til this past January, all accordingly to Frontier’s published trading updates.
This game has been planned to contribute strongly to this financial year before it ends in the end of next May.
So how does it make sense for it to be successful for this financial year if it would be released very late, that’s also close to another big major global IP release for PC and consoles? Failure to meet those revenue expectations big time, results in more bad than good for both ends.
That was one of my many reasons why I first believed it to be not JWE2, only to be proven wrong
(Today’s trading update confirms the other big game, 1 of 4 formula management games, is delayed for early FY23.)
