If Vram is the bottleneck regarding SS, is the Titan X the solution?

in short, no. the Titan X is built on older architecture and therefore stands in the shadow of the pascal chip.

Technically yes. But what about RL gaming? From what I've read so far, lack of vram is throttling performance when pushing SS. So logically more vram should mean more/easier super sampling, no?

Does anyone here have any RL experience with this conundrum?

If more video ram is the key to higher super sampling, is Nvidias Titan X 12 Gb actually a better option than the 1080s 8 Gb?

Hi, im running two and someone else here is also. I can confirm; not really :). Getting similar results to what people are saying on 1080s, slightly worse, running on one o/c Titan X. with SLI you can push SS/PD/ quality crazy far but i never do because, without proper support, it introduces enough latency to the headtracking to completely kill presence and make even me feel sick. Usually im bombing about in SRVs somersaulting and barrel rolling no problem

Isn't there a titanesque pascal card coming out, however? ;) You're probably onto something there.

Im actually really happy with what im seeing at the moment given the limitations of the CV1, so im probably holding out for a 1080ti sort of job whenever that happens.

1080Ti will almost certainly keep all the features of the GTX, but have the expanded 384 memory bus, which will be faster for SS than the existing 1080 GTX' 256-bit wide bus. This improvemnt alone will help SS a fair bit. We may see some additional cores added too. I'd expect something around Xmas 2016 in line with previous Ti architecture refreshes i.e 10-15% improvement over the regular GTX, but probably less OC headroom.

I'm having zero issues with a single 1080 GTX (Gigabyte G1). I've not used the debug tool yet to improve the pixel density setting, and I use just bog-standard 1.0SS settings in ED with everything set to Ultra details. Looks great, judder free, and usually only judders when its about to crash.

I came from a 780GTX, so it was quite a big jump (although the 780GTX handled VR quite well, even on planets, albeit with medium quality settings).

I don't seem to suffer any nausea etc when on planet, space, or in Arena.

Loving the Imperial Fighter's very cramped cockpit. Not loving Arena crashing ever hour or so.
