If we were in the thargoids postition we would have wiped out humanity in 2.3......and some observations

In 2.3 if we had been in their position, as soon as we hyperdicted them most of the player base would have gone
” That alien ship I’ve just pulled over is shooting at me, he can’t hurt me but he’s clearly hostile WIPE THEM ALL OUT”
We all know that’s what would happen
Now without trying to apply too much human nature to aliens let’s look at what we KNOW and not what gal net and the government are telling us
Alien probes show up, we scoop them and investigate
Later alien ships appear, and leave no matter how much you shoot then (if we were trying to appear non hostile, that’s a good way to do it, as let’s face it people kill bugs on a daily basis such as spiders, yet they usually pose minimal threat to life)
Runours of thargoids attacking and destroying our ships, when we don’t even know who fired first, despite what the news feed says, it’s always biased towards ourselves
Anti Alien weapons produced in less than a few weeks, I’m not convinced we didn’t already have them or at least some ships had access to them lore wise but that’s just speculaton
Thargoids seen around destroyed ships, it’s been months now of unprovoked attack’s against them so now they are fighting back when attacked, yet most are quite happy to warn you off with coloured lights we can recognise as a warning
They are scooping occupied escape pods etc, but we also scooped their probes, perhaps they think it’s socially acceptable since we scooped their things first
If we were in their shoes, the moment any human shot at us we would have launched (as players) a full scale invasion
It all comes down to understanding, if you want to appear friendly (regardless of species) any advanced aliens would know not to appear as a threat and to attempt some communication, lights being something we can start with since most species are likely to react to light
Sure they have crossed some lines (interdiction is usually interpretated as a hostile act, but they didnt attack in the first instances so this is a misunderstanding from their part)
They then would leave, despite our attempts to kill them, desperately trying to say “we will not attack despite your attacks on us”
Second misunderstanding is when they scoop our escape pods, since we scooped their probes they probably took this as a sign it was ok to do so to study is further
As to the unprovoked attacks some report (and I’ve been attacked by them too once without any cause I can see) Maybe they are just getting annoyed after months of them not firing back when we attack them and even we would do the same if we found a primitive world, I gurrentee many players would flock there and blow them up without cause even if they didn’t attack back at all
If nothing else the aliens have been very tolorent with us and could have just gone full out surprise attack and wiped out half the bubble before we had any weapons to harm them, but they didn’t........think about that
