If you can pick any animal to be in a free update that is based on an already existing animal in the game. What will it be?

so we all would like more animals. maybe an animal in a free update format will be great.
but we know that it would be a remodel (not too different from the animal it's based on) and reskin.
so, I would like to ask if there is an animal that you want in the game but based on an existing animal in the game.

Rules:
  • it needs to be based on an animal that is already in the game
  • the model cannot be too different from the animal that it's based on
  • reskin of an animal is ok
  • don't forget to add the animal it's based on, besides the animal that you picked
  • Max 5 animals
  • can be habitat or exhibit animals

Here is mine for Example;
  • Sumatran Tiger (Bengal Tiger)
  • Alpaca (Llama)

Can't wait to see you guys Ideas!

Sorry to say that, but of your 5 examples only the sumatran Tiger would work as a frontier level "clone" as all of the other ones would need a Lot of work in sounddesign, animation and remoddeling.

Personaly the Best and in my opinion most desirable examples would be the nilcrocidile (should be an easy smaller reskin of the salty), the black and white ruffed lemure (literal reskin) and another capuchin like the brown one, which i would like the Most as we really need both monkeys and SA animals

Sumatran tiger (bengal tiger)
Grevyi zebra (plains zebra)
Guanaco (llama)
Dromedary (bactrian camel)
Arctic fox (fennex fox) -> not too sure about this one, but I know all foxes can interbreed with fertile offspring, am assuming they have the same sounds and behaviors, and the most obvious changes between these two would be minor model updates (small ears for arctic fox, different eyes) and a floofy coat.

For me, the animal that would be the best candidate to be added as a free animal is the dromedary:

-It should be easy to make based on the Bactrian camel, since most of the animations, sounds and enrichment items could be the same.
-It's an iconic animal, yet not so special to be the star of a pack on its own.
-We have plenty of decorations for it.
-It would add another desert animal.
-It's found in more than one continent.
-It's common in zoos.
-It would kind of "compensate" the "polemic" of the African DLC with the new dromedary decorations.

American Flamingo - based off the Greater flamingo, would add much needed colours to the PZ roster and would be a nice more tropical alternative.

Dromedary Camel - out of Bactrian - not as a simple reskin, but could use the same rig and animations

Black and White Ruffed Lemur - out of the Red Ruffed emur, would probably require just a new skin

  • Malayan tiger (Bengal tiger)
  • Black-and-white ruffed lemur (Red ruffed lemur)
  • Barbary macaque (Japanese macaque)
  • Magellenic penguin (Cape penguin)
  • American flamingo (Greater flamingo)
The first two just give us more choices for animals commonly kept in zoos depending on where you are. Malayan tigers are way more common here in the States for instance. The last 3 just give us a lot more variety for areas themed around continents or certain parts of continents. All 5 don't require that much editing to be made.

I'm going to avoid the kinda obvious choices like the camel or black and white ruffed lemur, although they're important and more likely.

But here are my choices:
  1. Red wolf or coyote or Mexican wolf - gray wolf or Dhole(?) or Arctic wolf - although many don't want any more Canis members anymore, these 2 wolves are endangered and conservation efforts are being done through the South and Mexico and the coyote is iconic to NA
  2. Roseat spoonbill - greater flamingo - so, I love the spoonbill, and I think Frontier could get away with basing it off of the flamingo. My only question: do these require an aviary or not?
  3. Ocelot - clouded leopard - hear me out. Both animals are very arboreal. Both look like leopards. I think that if the devs shrink the model and tweak it's looks, it may work. What do y'all think?
  4. Squirrel monkey - Colombian white-faced capuchin - I believe this may work, and give us a nice, hyperactive monkey
  5. American black bear - any bear - so, this is a semi-popular choice, but not enough to add to a NA pack it seems. So, I think that as a free, downloaded animal it would be very popular

The First one could work But the rest are waaaay to different.
Just cause it looks similar from a far doesnt make the animals similar in the Name of design

I doubt they would give something free based on animal from dlc.
I just want them to give us the dromedary for free for the Anniversary this year and that would be enough for me. Between totally fumbling the Anniversary last year (literally no ingame content and some facts no one cared about) compared with the oodles of free rides and attractions PC got, plus the weird inclusion of 5-6 dromedary artworks in game while actual animals in game still have none...if there is one animal they could afford to spot us for free, it's that one.

With some slight rework of the skin, you could probably get a good emu from the Ostrich.
Besides both being big birds, they are really nothing alike. The whole body shape is different, they behave differently, they make completely different sounds. You could use the ostrich as a base but you'd need to rework the whole model and everything else. They even have a different number of toes.

This thread is really another demonstration that the concept doesn't work. A Sumatran tiger from the Bengal, or the black-and-white ruffed lemur from the red ruffed lemur, are good examples of a reasonable "reskin", but then OP adds the snub-nosed monkey to the same list. It's like calling the red fox a reskin of the timber wolf.

The arabian Oryx, based on the Gemsbok. Their conservation is an amazing story (they went from extinct in the wild with 11 specimens left on earth), to a thriving species that is only vulnerable.

They are true desert animals, of which we lack, and they would be easy to make

Based on how Frontier clones actually work our choices are a bit more limited than OP suggests. I'd go with:

Rhesus or Barbary macaque (Japanese macaque)
American black bear (Formosan black bear)
Mhorr gazelle (Thomson's gazelle)
Arabian oryx (Gemsbok)
Even those are pushing it. I could see the Barbary macaque out of the Japanese macaque and the Arabian oryx out of the gemsbok, but the other two aren't really similar except in body-type. Frontier's clones are the two brown bears, two tigers, two wolves, and the two giant tortoises, with the two monitor lizards and the Thomson's gazelle/springbok just skirting it (the latter is even less convincing as a "clone").
