If you die on foot with wanted status from ANY faction, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR SHIP AND HAVE TO REBUY

Seriously? I'm doing a mission to steal an item of an opposing faction, die due to framerate issues/bugs/stuck in the floor, and I HAVE TO REBUY MY SHIP THAT WAS IN ORBIT?

This has happened 2x so I decided to go back to a starport CLEAN and use a cheap ship. Then I had to log off for IRL issues, then I log back in, and I DIED SOMEHOW IN THE STARPORT I WAS DOCKED AT AND HAVE TO REBUY 3X?

100 million down the drain because of this buggy as hell of a mess.

Thanks Odyssey. I lost alot of faith in Frontier.

Edit: OH and you can't sell your stored modules to get credits to help you rebuy! IT DOESN'T WORK NOR DOES THE LOAN LOLOLOL

Thus, my paranoia is reinforced, condolences CMDR.
All I can suggest is ticket support, this seems like a very bad bug, explain the incident as calmly and concise as possible, and everything that happened. - If my Wingmate can get her Corvette back after being struck by station crossfire, I'd like to hope a wrongful bugged death also qualifies.

It happened to me last night.
however, upon paying off the fine at the detention center, and getting a taxi back to my home world, I got in my sidey and found I could transfer the orbiting ship back to my home world.

But now got a new one.... my ship has a fine on it and no way to pay off.... at which point I logged out last night and went to bed

Bill

And another update... hey ho

No, I was DOCKED. I relogged, then I somehow ended at the rebuy screen. Read please

I WASN'T FLYING A CORVETTE WITH 11 MILLION CREDITS LOL

I'm not sure how crime and punishment works in EDO, or how it's affects the last ship you were in. If losing your last ship is not supposed to happen while on foot then put a ticket in.

However it does say on that rebuy screen you only have 11 million, that's what I was pointing out.

I've had the same thing happen here - I died in an SRV while I had a 100 cr fine, then was sent to the rebuy screen. I thought it was weird (since I was supposed to respawn in my ship), then went and docked in the nearest station, went into hangar, and logged out.

Imagine my surprise when, next time I logged in, the game said I was currently dead.

Thankfully, I have plenty of money for rebuys (and I'm flying a Viper MKIII), but now every time I log out, the game thinks I'm dead, says I died in an SRV, and requires me to rebuy my ship just to get back in, wiping any mission progress or bounties accrued in the process.

This is hands down the most infuriating bug I've encountered.

You shouldn't lose it. It stay where it is, so if you parked it in the middle of nowhere on a planet, it will stay there. Either use the shipyard or inter astra to "pull" it to the station you are or land there and walk to it.

If it's truly gone (as your screenshot shows), make a ticket, that's a bug. And if you lost your ship that way, contact support for a refund of said ship.

Source : I died a lot.

Well I wasn't going to lose that corvette with 100's of hours of engineered materials. So I sold my 100's of hours of engineered Krait Phantom 100million credits to get it back. I sent a ticket in

I had the unwelcome attention of a shotgun on a settlement mission as a scientist somehow saw me through a roof and rised the alarm.

Got shipped to correction and was worried about losing my fully engineered cutter. But it was still there on the landing pad after a Apex journey back.

Wondering if there is a difference if your on a pad or if you have sent your ship into orbit?
