If you don't accept a major faction rank increase mission, when will it appear again?

So I got a ranking mission for Imperial Navy, but it was for a 'find stolen x' mission. Which are virtually impossible.

So I simply did not accept the mission. Should I expect to see another one soon, or will I have to wait a while until it appears again?

Yes... They will come up again and usually with a different mission type for the same promotion. I held out for the "Courier" type missions for all of my Fed rank promotions. Much easier than the assassination, combat or go out and find a stolen canister of whatever floating in a certain area of a system.

Can't tell you the frequency of them reappearing but they do eventually, and not always at the same station where you got the last one. Several of mine appeared at stations I had docked at to complete an unrelated BB mission.

From my experience so far they just randomly appear when your eligable, last night i had 3 imperial navy missions at once from several stations so just fly around a few systems around where you found the first and more are bound to pop up
