Didn't you read about that in the 250 page Elite Dangerous manual?
Oh, that's right...A comprehensive manual was never created. FD believes it's more fun to let the player figure it all out versus giving away clues to spoilers. Right...
I miss those days when a game came with tons of literature!

Yeah took me an age to work it out too. Those early days spinning all over the place trying like mad to find where the next destination is!
The thing that really got me though was I played the original (well the spectrum version) and it was in that as well. Ah well, a long time ago!
