You can always use your imagination and feel everyone is happy with every aspect of the game on this forum.

If only it were as simple as using our imagination to help the developers create an intricate and living universe full of characters, stories and events.

The only thing our imagination will help us with is imagining what the game could be like if the developers would involve the community to pick up the slack in areas that they haven't put work into yet.

And some of it would be so easy, too. For example some of the systems have short descriptios in them about what goes on there/what the place is known for. Yet there are obviously hundreds that don't... so... how about the developers have a thread or something where anyone/everyone can pick a random system and propose a short (one paragraph?) long story about that system. Even simple things like that would help.

Let people write short GalNet news stories to mix into the gameworld. Let the talented artists out there draw character images to put into the game, avatars for the lifeless NPC's and news articles. Etc.

If the developers want to focus on the things we can't see, how about letting the community work on the things we can see. That way the game develops quicker.

Just some thoughts.

Our imaginations would be better spent playing a pen and paper version of this game which would actually have fully working coop, storylines, etc. We would actually have a better idea of what we're doing instead of screwing around in a virtual universe where we're biding our time for 'soon' which doesn't seem to be coming any sooner.

Imagining that I have offline mode, can pause, mission timers don't count down when offline, a bunch of people weren't allowed to keep billions of credits given in error....

Doesn't seem to be working.

Well there are a lot of features that will come, ask any knowledgeable kickstarter backer and they'll tell you what there is in the design documents yet to be developed

FD had a choice, release when they did and introduce more features as time goes on or to hold off forever getting everything ever "imagined" into the game before release, they obviously chose the first option which I am glad about...

Patience people!

If you already in Alpha, Beta and/or Gamma what difference does it make when they call their game 1.0. Its people who waited for release for all those Desing Document ideas to get implemented that are the most disappointed I think.
There are some great ideas in the DDA shame it was mostly smoke and mirrors.

This is why kickstarters and paying developers to do their beta testing for them is a bad idea. Developers always think they have the time and ability to do more than they are actually capable of, and the marketing people will always be happy to take your money in a way that lets them skirt consumer laws if you let them.

Be an educated consumer, buy product not promises, and do your research before you hit the buy button.

Eve online was awesome from day 1 but needed imagination too. After more than a DECADE of development it's got tons more content etc. So give Frontier at least a month!

For anyone lacking imagination - get an old Amiga and load up elite frontier. Play that for a few hours and then come back here.
