If you had to choose between aquatic animals or flying birds...

Most of us dream of having both aquatic animals (seals, penguins, otters, sea lions...) and flying birds in the game someday. However, if we had to choose between aquatic animals or flying birds, what would you prefer?

For me, it would be the aquatic animals. When I go to a zoo, I love seeing the penguins and other aquatic animals. They are usually more active and funny to watch. However, birds are usually hard to see because they are just hidden on the trees.

Aquatic. Definately aquatic. I don't need to think twice, because I really don't like birds much. :D

However, I feel like birds are more of a game changer and will bring back / add more people to the community. And since is that what will (maybe, in a way hopefully) prolong the life span of the game and bring it back to life, birds might be the better decision and if they'll come, I just suck it up, because it is better for the game. Maybe stretching myself and doing a tropical jurassic vibe birds and reptiles park with them, to put them to good use.

If I had to choose I would choose the aquatic animals, simply because I love sea lions, penguins and other aquatics that I cannot imagine a zoo game without.
But I really hope we will get both as aviaries would add another layer of realism for zoos.

Id rather not choose because both are very common for zoos. Buuuut its true Mrine animals ar more interactive and in PZ they would have more options in habitat customization than birds which would need to be in a cage, just like lizards are in terratiums currently. So for me it would be Aquatic as well.

Birds without a question. They form the majority of species in almost every zoo. Birds are colorful, they add life and diversity to any zoo. The current absentee state of birds in the game, makes Planet Zoo unrealistic and incomplete. Aquatic animals (as long as they fit the zoo criteria are a great second choice, this has to be said, because I have seen some youtubers create exhibits for whales, sea turtles etc, and that is something I do not think this game needs or would benefit from. At the very least they are not a priority.

A little bird told me that this question has already being settled, can't wait until December, best DLC yet.

I like the idea of breaking down "aquatic" into two sections: semi-aquatic and fully aquatic/marine.
I would say I would much rather have semi-aquatic animals such as otters, sea otters, seals and sea lions, beavers and large turtles more than anything else. Flighted birds for aviaries etc is a close second, and fully marine creatures such as reef fish, sharks, octopi, rays and eels are last.

I wanted to clarify on my earlier post when I think aquatic I think otters, seals, penguins, and beavers but not so much whales and dolphins. But birds would be a close second for me. I just picture watching otters through the glass viewing area.

Plus birds can also be included in an Aquatic DLC, we have penguins (everyone's favorites) we have Pelicans (they will interact with their aquatic environment beautifully) Cormorants ( will rip thru the water and hopefully find fish) diving ducks (a can almost see them thru the glass panels in their exhibits and they dive towards the bottom of their exhibit pool) so much potential, so many choices

I think that something big is coming in December, and it does not mean that the other will not come at a later time, all of us would love to have both birds and aquatic animals, but birds do present the biggest possibility for a major DLC. Aquatic animals like a sea lion an otter, capybara, beavers, walruses etc, will sadly probably be handled a small DLC (I'm completely against that, but it will probably be the case) Now if they were to add a DLC of birds with just four species, I would personally book the next flight to the U.K and start protesting. LOL.

The hardest part of seeing Frontier release a birds DLC will be knowing how many thousands of species might never make it into the game. When you go to a Zoo you not always expect to see a sea lion, depending on the zoo you might not see a Capybara or even otters. It is almost unheard off even here in the U.S to see a beaver. Full Aquariums within a zoo are a rarity, and exclusive to a handful of zoo, but one thing you can count on, a world of colorful birds everywhere.

Birds come in all sizes, shapes and colors. Anyone who has ever visited a zoo and being lucky enough to witness a majestic Condor up close, or a Pelican take flight and soar over their shoulders would understand why they are often some of the most incredible experiences you will ever get to have in any zoo.

Birds also present the distinct possibility of new gameplay features being added to the game. I'm referring to bird interactive experiences, with ambassadors, even looping coordinated flight sequences that could make it very easy for players to built open air animal presentation theaters. Something like this could be presented as a ride, with a keeper and the bird as a starting point, and the player could pin point the designated point of landing for the bird (an interactive station that could be placed anywhere) You could even have timers like in Planet Coaster that would allow you to dictate when the looping interaction happens.

Walk thru aviaries with small birds like Parakeets or Loris also another staple of zoos, and it would open the door for bird feeders, and enrichment stations. I would plead with Frontier to please design the bird feeders in scale, look at zoos actually include within their aviary, we do need giant feeders that are not only out of scale, but make our designs look unrealistic.

While aquatic animals would be a fantastic addition, and a beautiful sight to see in Planet Zoo, the will be for the most part, based on the species that are mostly requested here, a completely new addition to the game. Bird on the other are already in the game, in an extremely limited capacity, almost non existent, but are badly needed to truly create those same exhibits that so many players love building, but lack life and character, due to what is currently missing. A realistic African Savanna would benefit greatly from the addition of birds. Tropical Rainforest indoor exhibits, something many of you love building, currently look like ghost towns without birds. The water in Planet zoo looks beautiful and adds so much life to the game, but what is the point of intricate lagoons, lakes and streams in your zoo if there are no birds other than flamingoes to inhabit them?

I would say aquatic.

Seals, sealions, penguins, walruses, manatees, otters, beavers, capybaras, turtles and tons of fish.

And I would preffer more ground birds instead of aviaries. There are so much amazing ground birds that doesn’t need the flying animation. I would be soooo happy with shoebill, argus and jabiru for instance.
