If you just PLAY this game making money is a slooowww process

If you just play this game using no workarounds, no refreshing job boards etc. etc. making money is a slow process. Smuggling jobs in my Cobra are few and far between for a merchant, every once and a while I'll hit pay dirt, taking time to actually support my power by making deliveries for fortifications also takes entire play sessions. I'll jump into my DBS from time to time and just travel around looking for work, not finding anything then just stalking RES to RES. I'm having lots of fun I have two A Rated ships but these Youtube people with the make 20 million credits an hour, I don't know what they are talking about. LOL

Also, if you see me out there and I say hello and am not attacking you first, don't run! lol Everybody runs, I guy in an Imperial Cutter in our home system ran last night when I was in a Cobra?? I said Hello, CMDR first as well over coms.

Robigo would still give you a tidy return without mode switching. I can make about 10 million an hour trading on a solid route with my Anaconda...

Move up the ship hierarchy and you'll notoce your profits going up too ;)

most of them are trade elite or level 5 power play gods and played from the start of ED launch who get 20 mil just scratching their ar53 so they do legitimately get that bit of cash where for the likes of me a 200 K mission is like mana from heaven

Shush, you haven't tried making money just through piracy. When you have then you can complain. :p

Eventually, if you gain Rep and Influence, for a minor faction, the missions payouts will be better.

What we all do wrong mostly, is to travel around to much, but if you stay in a system, pick missions, finish them, and go back to that same system to pick more missions. They will get better over time.

But, with the new overhauled Bulletin Board, this will all be so much more easy.

+1 rep for playing the game when so many are looking for the big payout or grind for rank/Anaconda/Corvette/Cutter :)

Rep for repping but since i have to spread rep around more take my imaginary rep...

Playing the game, is so much more fun then grinding towards that endgame ship and after that killing sidewiders because you are bored.

Also yet many of us that are from GPP made it just fine.

Hey, I actually struck gold last night with three T7's that all has a hold full of scientific samples! 10 mil payout! Woo!

I don't think Grind is a bad thing. If you want something, and you need to work at it to get it. Then that's fair enough. I think it's a choice you can make. I tried it, but got bored of it because it doesn't suit my (somewhat aimless) play style.

So much is made of the big ships and the shiny toys, I don't think we should be so negative towards the (often newer) players who also want to be a part of that.

Things could be worse, ships could be bought on finance Plans!!!

let me correct this for you... ;-)

___

OP, each his own way. the joke is (i'm talking from a perspective of having enough credits and rank to buy all the ships) - you can play the whole game and experience everything in a cobra MKIII. my currently most flown ships: DBS, and cobra mk III, like you. and i have a lot of fun.

Atleast you don't have many expenses of exploration, you do with piracy. I have done exploration it is more profitable than piracy.. unless you blow up.

You've got two A-rated ships, that's not bad going. Personally, I like the pace. Some things pay more than others. A few people have posted Rare trade routes on here. They make a fair chuck of cheddar and the travel involved means you're not stuck in one spot.

No, not al all, please dont misunderstand me, as I was not complaining. I said I am having fun and its not really a grind, especially when I travel around looking for trouble.

I often refer to ranking as the rank grind, because that's what it is for me. I dont particularly complain because it is my choice to do it, and I am pacing myself. One or two days a week dedicated to rank progression. Will get there eventually. Playing since November and I finally made it to an Anaconda last month. Been to Sag A, have smuggled, traded, fought my way through the the game. It is so much more fun to not make a competition out of it. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I just love the versatility of ED. We get so MANY different viewpoints on here and they're all valid. Then there's CoD: 'I like the running and the shooting' 'Well, I disagree, the best thing is the shooting and then the running.' etc

Try looking for systems on the outer edge of the bubble, especially Anarchy systems. You should find some BB missions, either smuggling or legal cargo, which offer a decent return. You don't necessarily have to go to the likes of Robigo, but recently it does seem that you need to go to the more remote systems to find decent BB missions.

becausei have a short ish attention span I chop and change what I do, mining here bb missions there and I love playing that way. this last week has been about my first cg and I might not do another for a good while.

as for grinding money I just set goals and get cash for that first. I have an a rated python and an a rated clipper. next on my list is a conda I think so I can take the trading up a notch.

tried robigo once on my pc account and frankly it bored the hell out of me. same with mode switching.
