If you want to cheese your way to a spaceship..

Well last night I got pretty tired of my Sidewinder cargo runs and was willing to do whatever to upgrade my ship. I found a pretty good one jump run that was netting 500 profit per cargo slot. (I think that's good? For me at least?) Considering the one jump takes almost no time at all it was a pretty sweet deal.
It was from the cooperative base in Wyrd to Olivia's something or another in BD-47 2112. Coffee was in HIGH supply in Wyrd and Demand in Olivia's something something was MEDIUM, so the profit margin was pretty good. I got pretty far grinding that out for an hour or so. If anyone else has found profitable quick runs lets share :D

Aulin > i Bootes. 1 run loop.

Fish one way and Agr-Medicines the other. If you can afford the risk then do Terran enrichment Systems although on these the profit is 50% higher than medicines, that base cost is 500% more. Only do TES when you can afford a full hold of them. A full hold of medicines profits more than half a hold of TES.

I went from Sidey to Hauler to Cobra Mk3 to Lakon Type 6 in a handful of hours doing this.

I appreciate spilling this will devalue it, it's been getting worse for days.

Part of me wants it to die, it's so good it's all I've done. I want to do something else but just can't escape the profit.

I think I'm a born trader...

EDIT:
Also, use this: http://www.oisltest.com/DM/BPC/

Just don't ask it to do ANY ANY. Plumb in your cargo and current balance (less any insurance you're keeping back if you do that).

Tbh in the Sidey its far quicker to be a space binman in a anarchy system than it is to try trade with only 4 ton cargo capacity.

Could you explain what you mean by this? I'm making money with the Sidey by collecting vouchers in combat areas (i.e. shooting Fed Fighters). However it takes quite a time.

I think he's referring to scouring an anarchy system for points of interest that contain the spilled cargos of destroyed vessels/results of other's piracy. You can find some valuable remnants if you're lucky and sell them on the Anarchy station's black market for a very nice return.

I've been doing advanced whatsits and resonating doodahs from Asellus to Dahan, and Tantalum back. That's about 700cr per cargo per trip (so ca 1400cr for a round trip).

Advanced whatsits are above 2k to buy though and Tantalum is about 3500 or so, so if you'rer starting out fresh in a sidey a few fed kills and coffee runs (eranin -> asellus) is a great way to get some starting capital.

It's not at all reliable though. I've found gold twice...first time netted 18k or so, second time I got jumped by Cobras with missiles and only just made it out alive with two cans.

Personally I think plinking federal fighters in eranin for >15k an hour is pretty good earnings and more fun than trading. Zero risk too as you can do it in the starting ship easy.

You always get a descent price for leather and natural fabrics if you get them from Azeban-City and trade them Chango-Dock. Farming Equipment should always fetch a good price at Azeban-City and Aulin-Enterprise and Mining Equipment at either Dahan-Gateway or Beagle-Two-Landing. Which ever of those last two places is about mining.

I spent the first few hours trying to trade in my sidewinder, until I realised theres a tom of gold floating around in the system with the Freeport station... Went to a viper then because you never know when you will be ambushed! After a while I bought a hauler and started trading locally for a few hours until I got a cobra to do the same in. Next came the Lakon 6. With that one, I jumped to the fringes and scoured the maps for trade runs that were longer but über profitable. My latest and greatest run involves jumping in between two planets via Styx. Each leg nets me 120 - 130000 credits.

A couple more runs this morning and I'll buy the Lakon 9 and do the same for a couple of hours at x4.4 the profit... That over half a million profit each way! One million per round trip...

The point?

My experience is to use each ship to its strengths ... Find out what its good at and then discover how to turn that into maximum profit.

I have done the bounty hunting and merc roles in previous incarnations and wanted to focus on salvage and trade this time round. Playing Lynrd Skynrd, hauling crap around the galaxy is space truck heaven! :)

Then stop off at Freeport to watch some NASCAR and drink some beers. Maybe take a nap in the cargo hold. Good times buddy. Good Times :D

I got lucky and found a boat load of battle weapons outside Opala. Took them to Ovid (I think) and got 5500cr per ton. 22,000cr pure profit on one jump. Nice.

It's well worth checking out the contacts tab if you hear the station's guns open up, then hot-footing it out to grab what you can as quickly as you can before you get scanned (the local security forces frown upon cargo grabbing as it's regarded as stealing).

Wyrd is definitely the place to go for tea, coffee, baccy and liquor.

Baccy fetches top money at Morgor.

Same route I've been doing. Got my first hauler last night.. looking forward to loading that thing up with TES to i Bootes.. :p

Looking at what you wrote at the end of your signature and would like to point out something I realised about how the so called Milky-Way has been realised in this game.

Just take a good look at it recognise it's foulness.

Sorry been out all day, otherwise I would have responded earlier.

Hamerstein is correct, keep checking poi till gold pops up. Scoop, win.
Although with 1.3 update, 4 cobras will turn up after the second scoop.
See how many cans you can get before you have to run!!
(My record so far is 6 cans, hit SC with about 90% hull left. I can take out 3 NPC cobra [flying an equipped viper] without too much issue, but 4 is not really possible consistently)
