If you won the lottery??

Let's say in the millions....

Would you

Donate a portion of your winnings to FD in order to help them achieve the max realization of Elite Dangerous?

I would, I would indeed.

But there would be some caveats to it. ;) yes i know there is always a "but"

Millionaire? I think Nepal would be a bit higher on the priority list. FD is getting more than enough out of us, I'll stick to buying skins and DLC.

If I was a billionaire? FD staff would definitely be getting a nice bonus cheque once all the DLC was released :) Been waiting for a game like this since my childhood

If i won millions in the lottery, ED and Frontier (or any other game/publisher) would be the last thing on my mind.

Are you sure you're not a bit TOO involved in this whole thing ?

Giving Frontier your lottery winnings would just have them have to pay it back out in capital gains tax. You could just as easily skip the middleman and give your money to the British government directly.

Besides, I doubt money is Frontier's limiting factor.

EDIT: If you really have to give lottery money to support your gaming habit, I can think of a few startups that need funding more than Frontier does.

LOl no but when your bored of spending and traveling, there is always Space, and once a gamer always a gamer no matter rich or poor, being rich just allows for a better gaming rig.

No I would use it to hire a lawyer to help those that feel they were cheated by FD to pursue legal action against them

Which doesnt have a legal leg to stand on as crowd funding isnt the same as Investing..
So nice waste of money there...

I'd rather use my millions and open up a Game Development studio and do my own games and bring jobs to the community where there is nothing like that here... Also keep some to one side just in case it goes belly up, as running a game dev studio is hard

Excellent reply, To be honest I started this conversation not just to see who would donate to FD, but also see how people view things in terms of money is no problem perspectives. I think we have a good community here, it just seems to be getting drowned in negativity lately..

The Internet is full of negativity and entitlement. Its easy to be angry, mad and vocal when you arent face to face with the person(s) you are mad at.
And if you were, I am pretty sure 90% of those issues would be resolved gracefully. All the Internet does these days is make humanity look awful.. :/

I wouldn't be playing ED for a good few years that's for sure Id be looking up Richard Branson's space trip holiday .

Yea was thinking the same thing, if won enough money charter a trip into space for reals, or if crazy enough and single, join the Mars project!

Yeah because pulling the game from the eyes of 9 million potential customers makes a ton of sense, because you hate the Steam Client..

I dont..... even..... Sigh...

Are you saying, Steam has 9 million users who can't figure out how to look for games outside of Steam ?

Naww, just teasing...of course it would be nonsense to pull ED of Steam. ;)

To be honest, I got mine outside of Steam a looong time ago.. And I really didnt see what the big hoopla was about from not getting Steam Keys either (even though we ARE getting them now).. Also I am glad Powerplay is delayed so I can Play some Witcher 3 (again not purchased on my Steam account). :)

A one way trip to a Red death trap, no matter how exciting it seems is just that...

A Red death trap... I'd rather die with breathing oxygen or Earth born pathogens, and not some other toxic atmosphere, or by some super toxic bug that they haven't detected in the soil that will basically turn you into a puddle via your nostrils... :p

Maybe once they work out how to download your consciousness into a robot body, then I could be convinced...

Going to space however for an orbit of our pale blue dot... that would be awesome..

That was what i was hinting at, many regular Steam users already playing ED before it became available on Steam. ;)

And yeah, The Witcher 3 will definitely get in my way too before i'm even touching 1.3.

Apologies, OP...back to the lottery dreams ;)
