if you worked for frontier what would you add

The golden snub-nosed monkey because it would annoy a lot of people.

A bunch of reskins. Eurasian brown bear, Eurasian wolf, American flamingo, Masai giraffe, and so on.

Two more penguins; gentoo and rockhopper.

Then, I'd constantly tease a duck but never actually add one. Then I'll add a goose.

I know you are saying this as a joke. But I think all of these would be kind of nice!

Assuming there is no limitations then also the content of this book.

Assuming there is limitations:
  1. Habitat birds, as a large expansion. With some birds for the WTE.
  2. A handful of birds in the WTE for base game.
  3. A handful of monkeys, and then also some new rodents and reptiles.
  4. Peere David’s deer.
  5. Honestly, I’m actually gonna agree with @NZFanatic and go with a bunch of “reskins”. Sumatran tiger, Eurasian bear and wolf, masai giraffe, Humboldt penguin, American flamingo, African spurred tortoise, so on and so forth.
  6. Exhibit boxes would come in 1-4 different sizes.

In all seriousness, I'd pretty much ignore community wishes and just get the team to add the animals I personally want to see in the game. Then once I have those I'd quit and go back to my day job, content with the state of the game.

In fact, the very first thing I'd have them do is put a hiatus on the next DLC and simply go back through every single animal since the base game and upgrade upgrade upgrade. Bring every old animal up to modern standards of quality. Despecify and respecify certain animals (generic lion and Asian black bear, more specific wolf and African buffalo, etc.).Then I'll make them remake the Somali wild ass and domestic donkey with actual donkey sounds so they aren't unusable (can modders add new sounds yet? I'm assuming not, since neither of these has been fixed). They'll also be forced to remake the orangutan from scratch with a whole new set of orangutan-specific animations. Additionally, make it so a bunch of animals can use a bunch of the enrichment items that they currently can't. Like the goat climbing rock doesn't need to literally be for caprines only. Big cats, primates, bears, all would get a kick out of that thing, as one example.

Then we'll get the reskins. The very basic reskins.

Then finish whatever DLC they are currently working on. It'll be late, but y'all can suck it up for this massive upgrade update I'm making them do first.

Then an on-grid building set with chain-link, square mesh, and iron bar see-through textures.

Then a bunch of animals I want (baboon, serval, waterbuck, NW monkeys, Eurasian wildcat).

Then I'd find out exactly why they haven't made any WTE birds yet. Assuming they can and just haven't, we'll do a bunch of those, and a few more WTE sizes and varieties so not every aviary looks the same.

Finally, before I walk out the door, they'll make a second green iguana for the habitat market, and a second koala for the exhibit market. Best of both worlds.

Hands down my answer would be medium/smaller sized birds (Eagles, Macaws, Toucans, Owls, Cockatoos and the like). Preferably as habitat birds if it would technically be possible, Walk Through Exhibit/Non-Walk Through Exhibit (but same or half sized). if habitat is not possible. 20 of those for sure, getting us to 207 animals.

As much as I go on about wanting more Latin American animals, make no mistake. I would gladly trade not getting any more mammals - including more New World Primates - for getting these type of birds in the game.

If there were any time/money left over, a deluxe habitat bird pack, with a couple of ducks, a pelican, Secretary Bird, Scarlet Ibis, Shoebill, Wild Turkey, Greater Rhea, Greater Roadunner, American Flamingo, Marabou Stork, Grey Crowed Crane, and Roseate Spoonbill. - that would bring the total to 220 animals.

If there were anything left over after that - Spectacled Bear, Coati Mundi, Howler Monkey, Squirrel Monkey, Brazilian Porcupine, Patagonian Mara, Ocelot and a few Tamarins for (WT?) exhibit animals. so like 10 more animals for 230 animals.

Finally, if there were still anything left over after that - some of those highly requested or personally wanted animals - Tree Kangaroo, Hamadryas Baboon, Muskox, American Black Bear, Nile Crocodile, Bat Eared Fox, Sulawesi Bear Cuscus, Walrus, Eurasian Otter, Black Backed Jackal, Grey Kangaroo, Masai Giraffe, Spider Monkey, Markhor, Blackbuck, Echidna and Pallas Cat for habitat animals, and a Cobra, Chameleon and Two Toed Sloth for exhibit animals. That would bring the final roster to 250 animals.

I have been wanting them to resize the tortoises since day one! I’m 6’3, and I have seen both the Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises in real life. They seem so small to me in game, like the size of an African spurred tortoise. It doesn’t feel right.

But if they can do what they did for the Malayan tapir for some of the base game animals, I would be very happy. The American buffalo has also always felt small.

I actually feel like the Galapagos are ok. The tortoises I've seen are on the smaller side. Of course they could add a larger size, but I don't think that it's entirely unrealistic them being small-ish...

What I'd do for Frontier is I'd rename many animals, most notably the HBB and the Wolf (Eurasian brown bear and northwest wolf respectively)
Then, I'd upgrade all the old animals to current quality, including sizing, sounds, enrichment, and textures.
After that, I'll need to see

  • Allow any billboard to be designated as a habitat or education board (simply place whatever size you want, select the animal, education topic, use as a advert, or simply use it for decoration and upload custom art if wanted)
  • Different Exhibit Sizes & Shapes
  • Allow multiple walkthrough exhibits to be linked together
  • Allow more customization within Exhibits (like each enrichment item you can toggle on/off has a few skins to choose from, different skins for the base biome, etc.
  • A couple of small fish in exhibits
  • A couple of Small Birds in exhibits
  • Smaller land needs and hit boxes for many animals
  • 1 meter wide staff paths
  • Null staff paths
  • Add the same "Manage Population" option to habitats
  • A couple more types of guest gates
  • Add secondary keeper gates
  • Mud wallows that can be placed like bedding (3 sizes, with no borders)
  • Rework the Okapi and Lion models
  • Add a couple of Birds of Prey and Parrots in walkthrough exhibits
  • Make the Highland cow slightly bigger
  • Add color morphs for Dingos
  • Add more options for solar panels and wind mills (will need more research to unlock them)
  • Add a few skulls, skeletons, antlers, and models
  • Silhouette style animal signs for every animal
  • Signs for every animal in the same style as the last few pack
  • Allow animals signs, text, and basic shapes to be scaleable to a certain degree
  • Add Barries that stop guests but not staff
  • Allow pathing to be saved in blueprints
  • Allow gridded items to be re-grouped (as long as they are on the same grid)
  • Add a city map
  • Add zoo exit gate
  • Add pathing with road markings
  • Add a few more vehicles (golf carts, tractor, forklift, box truck, two types of passenger cars, etc.)
  • Add playgrounds
  • More decals (claw marks in different sizes, anti-collision bird stickers, a few animal tracks (bird feet, bear paw, giraffe hoof, etc.), more grunge options)
......I'm going to stop now because I can just keep going lol

bold of you to assume frontier isn't doing it already.

The cold themed maps have goose sounds in the background, and the twilight castle map has mallard sounds aswell, alongside with some other thing ingame showing them (i don't remenber what exactly though... maybe a sign?).

They have been teasing waterfowls for ages, they just never bothered to add then.

  • At least 30 birds (both ground and flying)
  • At least 7 monkeys
  • Manatee
  • Exibit aquariums with fish
  • As many oddballs as possible
  • DLC adding one animal to all already released
  • Hotels
  • Ability to grow own plants to feed herbivores with special stations that convert poop into fertilizer
  • Zip lines
  • Animal feeding stations

  • Remaster of base game animals to current standard
  • Add a bird for each DLC that doesn't have one
  • Add flying birds to the WTE
  • Expand the southamerican base game roster
  • Add a WTE animal to every DLC, mostly birds
  • Add an extra habitat animals to DLCs (so 5 for scenery and 8 for animal pack + the 2 exhibits i mentioned, regular and WTE)
  • Release 4 scenery DLCs themed Mountains, Coastal, Caribbean and Latinamerica.
  • Release Rainforest and Scrublands animal packs
  • Add a modular / on grid mesh/net building set to base game.
  • Add touch pools and interactive ponds as new type of exhibits
  • Add new exhibit box type: aquariums for fish and Aquatic invertebrates (crabs, Octopus, jellyfiah, starfih, corals)
  • Allows for selection of size and shape in exhibit boxes and WTE.
  • Add possibility of selecting the habitat of the exhibit.
  • Add small mammals to exhibit specially underground types like moles, naked mole rats, etc.
  • Add nursing and more social interactions between animals (own species and with other species and guests)
  • Add playgrounds
  • Add fully aquatic animals: manatee, turtle, sharks, big river fishes, etc
  • Expand on monkey roster: 4-5 american species, 4-5 african species and 4-5 asian.
  • Add null staff Gates and allows for more than one entrance to an habitat.
  • Add more enrichment ítems and more variations in feeders.
  • Add clones to base game roster so they don't take spots in DLCs (american flamingo, grey kangaroo, sumatran tiger, Eurasia Brown bear, wolf subspecies, etc)

That's a very generous interpretaton of ambient sound.

I’d wait like a year after the last dlc and add Barnyard pack 2: electric boogaloo, with nothing but a kunekune, 5 different domestic waterfowl breeds, and a domestic pigeon that just randomly becomes the only bird in the walkthrough. No teasers, no announcements, it just pops up on the steam store one day with no elaboration whatsoever while the community becomes confused as hell. Why? I dunno I just felt like it one day. ╮ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ╭
