An option to ignore missiles when you press the target next hostile key would be nice, since at the moment they don't seem to despawn but instead fly 5km or so away and just sit there and mess up your target key whilst not being an actual threat.

What's the point, anyway? Can I shoot them down or something?

Not in a Cobra. But I do agree, it is very frustrating, especially if you have a point defence fitted. There should be a default setting, that tells the ship, 'the PD has got them, so ignore and move on'.I agree.
Ignoring missiles should be the default setting.
Targeting them is completely useless.

Frag cannon - screening shell effect.
It's a tad silly that your ship decides that a missile 5km away is a greater threat than the Anaconda and two Vultures currently shooting at you.
Some method of filtering and prioritising what counts as a threat would be very helpful.
