Fokker and Spad:
2018_7_18_17_14_42.jpg

This is a quick mission on the Kuban map. No RoF map as yet. Not tried the Spad so far, but the Dr.1 flies as I remember it from RoF. Always trying to find new ways to kill me.

The BoX AI is smarter than RoF, and a Spad 'veteran' has more sense than to try to turn fight the Fokker. Setting the Spad to 'novice' made it a lot easier, though my aim was all over the place. Used most of my ammo to down it.

Also, slight discounts for early Rise of Flight adopters:

We’d also like to take this time to explain our discount plan for special Rise of Flight users who purchase FC and qualify for a special discount code. We have chosen to give those ROF users who supported us in our darkest, most difficult days some special recognition with an additional discount. Without this support we would not be here today and is a small way to say thanks to those that supported us when it mattered most. Some customers really went above and beyond in their financial support and that is reflected in the discounts below. We only wish economic reality would allow for it to be more.

First, everyone who orders during the Early Access period gets a $10 discount off regular MSRP no matter what. Second, if you are an existing ROF customer and meet certain criteria you qualify for an additional discount. The criteria are as follows.

Anyone who purchased content for ROF between it’s launch in 2009 to Jan. 1, 2013 from our website or a boxed or digital copy from an official retail partners (Excluding STEAM. ROF was not available on STEAM during this period) during that time frame will receive an additional discount.

  • If you spent between $0.01 and $70.99 you will receive an additional $5 OFF.
  • If you spent between $71.00 and $200.99 you will receive an additional $10 OFF.
  • If you spent greater than $201.00 you will receive an additional $15 OFF.

The special discount period ends September 15, 2018.

To get your special discount you’ll need to access your ROF user account on the ROF website and retrieve a promo code we have placed in your user profile. Then return to the IL-2 website and place your order for Flying Circus. Enter your discount code at check out. The additional discount will be reflected in the final amount.

Fair play to them for the recovery. They ed up big time, but do the decent thing now. [up]

people should ONLY buy from steam or their official site, even amazon are selling pirated games so stay away from that platform if you want to be sure.

Just included anything IL-2 in this thread, because forum search is horrible.

So without further ado;

Update on ROF Users Special Discount for Flying Circus!
30 JULY - 777 STUDIOS
Dear Pilots,

We've made some changes to our special discount for Rise of Flight pilots who purchase Flying Circus. We have chosen to give ALL ROF users who supported us throughout our existence an additional discount. We underestimated the demand for this special discount and we didn't want to offend our most ardent supporters from well before ROF was listed on STEAM and our merger with 1CGS. We also could not easily calculate support levels from STEAM users. We have finally found a way to do that, so everyone who has paid any money for ROF content can get a special discount on top of the regular Early Access discount.

I've bought both Bodenplatte and the tanks expansions...not that there's much to show for either at this time. I've been waiting for a decent tank sim since Steel Armour: Blaze of war which was kinda awkward and clunky but passable, I'm hoping for great things from the tanks add on to IL2. Apart from 1 or 2 collectable planes, I've added almost everything else to the IL2 great battles series to be.

Anyone else still wishing for a Pacific campaign? I've been waiting hopefully for the worthy successor to 1942 PAW from Microprose for over a decade...still not happened to my knowledge (IL2 1946 notwithstanding).

I still haven't bitten on Flying circus though...still not enough there to replace RoF which is quite firmly on my regular play list. When Flying circus is developed (hopefully) to the stage of RoF, I'll replace one of my all time favourite games with it...but it has a ton of ways to go before that happens [yesnod]

Go to their forum and ask for steel fury mechanics, like infantry, it would be a nice add on to it.
