As some of you may have seen, I bought the FAS a while ago and wasn't very complimentary about it. I can't remember why, but I just didn't get along with it.

Well, after hearing so many people rave about the bloody thing, I thought maybe it had just been me. So I saved up my credits, and decided to buy it again.

Here's my build:

And yes, I was wrong about it. I still am not keen on the placement of the large hardpoints, but there's no denying this thing is an effective killing machine. Python? Easy. Anaconda? Toast. Fer-De-Lance? Like a hot knife through butter.

I quite effectively rammed a Cobra to death as well.

About 20 minutes in a high RES yielded just under 700k in bounties. Pretty good.

A long time user of the FAS here.... you will struggle to fire for long with 2 large beams, heck you will struggle to fire for long with 1 large beam and a large pulse.

I only fight in CZ's but have found the best weapons layout for long combat stints while still packing a punch is a pulse on top, with 2 medium pulses and a large gimballed canon on the underside....you can pretty much fire all day and there is a certain satisfaction to taking out power plants on Pythons, Anacondas and Vultures with a single shot from the canon, not every time but often enough.

Don't forget when your shield goes is when the fun begins and not time to get out of dodge.

I love the FAS so much. I moved into it from a Vulture, and basically haven't looked back. While slower than the Vulture, it's still very maneuverable and can be heavily armored. The extra two medium hardpoints also give it much more firepower. Basically it's perfect :)
