I'll be a sad goodbye from me, no PC.

I may be one of the few on xbox who is like this, but I'll be a bit sad and angry that this title is slowly being taken away from the console platform especially after money spent on it and when I don't own a gaming pc.

Sad to see it go when it does.

Agreed, I was on PS4 and agonised over what to do after the final 3.8/4.0 split. Was certainly not going to build a gaming rig from scratch just to be able to play one game. Eventually went down the Geforce Now route and it's been - OK, actually. Can still sit on the sofa and use my DS4 controller.

I went down the GeForce Now route as a PC player because even with a suitable PC, it's so expensive to run with electricity costs in a household in the UK. I ended up buying a Lenovo M93 on ebay and using GeForce Now on it - only uses 17W of power in use so I can play for many hours without worrying about my chronic electricity usage... Miserly aren't I.

If you have a decent internet connection, buying a cheap PC or even a laptop and using GeForceNow could be an option.

I bought a Shield TV and the cheapest (non-free) monthly Geforce Now subscription, paired my DS4 controller to the Shield TV and it's pretty much worked. The DS4 is read as an Xbox controller so a couple of the button mappings needed reworking (and there's no rumble, sadly), but it's generally been OK - can do everything with the controller that I could do on the PS4. It's more of a faff to launch the application and takes a minute longer to load (planet generation every time), but I can still lounge around on the sofa while playing, and an unexpected benefit is that it's much quieter - the PS4 fan could get quite noisy, whereas the Shield TV is silent.

I'm still uneasy about having to do it at all, but it's wayyyyyyyyyy cheaper than putting together a rig. I find it ironic that it was uneconomic for Frontier to continue development on the console, but as a result I've now splashed a bunch of cash to other companies in order to continue playing their game...

I know I could have stuck to legacy/PS4, but after the 6 days notice they gave for console transfers I figured they could be equally brusque whenever they decide to pull that.

Doing exactly this also.
I used to be PS4 but made the transfer in Sept, then got on GeforceNow in October just to see it and was amazed it ran on 2015 laptop.
I bought Sheild TV and use my DS4 controller (all required keys now mapped) in lounge with just the controller and TV - Sheild is silent and is tucked out of the way.
I really couldn't stand having a PC, table, chair, keyboard, mouse and controller (with HDMI cable to TV instead of small monitor) - nah nah nah.
