I was returning from an exploration/meta-alloy expedition in Maia and I was in the middle of my route, hadn't seen any settlements or other ships in several jumps. I got too close to the sun I was scooping and got knocked out of SC.
As I waiting for my FSD to cool down, a CM3 jumped into my wake. I thought it was another blood-thirsty NPC and readied myself for combat, but worried about the extreme heat. but he just sat there and... scanned me!? Seemed like he was looking for bounties (which I had 4k in a system 200ly away), but he finished his scan and said "I'll be watching you...". Then he left me alone and I low waked out.
I hadn't seen this NPC behavior in what feels like years, have tweaks been made to the behavior of NPCs to make them more realistic? Or did I just run into a remnant of code long past?
