I'll buy 100,000 ARX if you let me have my own faction in my systems.

I've been trying to contact the game's creators since colonization began. But with customer support who doesn't care about the game and the company, there was no way to connect.

I wanted to buy names for all my stations and also play BGS on the systems, but I didn't realize there were player factions because I was immersed in the Thargoid War. I'm really not excited about playing without my own faction to support on my colonized systems, so I'll continue playing without spending a single euro on Elite, since the game's creators won't help me. I recommend all players not spend a single euro on ARX, as Frontier doesn't care about the few players who have been spending money on the game in recent years.

Player factions have been disabled for several years now. They're a relic of the past from pre war times. Maybe one day they'll come back but they don't do anything special apart from let you pick the name. Select a faction adopt it and use it. You can get angry over a name if that's your thing but they turned it off and I doubt 100k arx worth of british pesos is going to fund the development work to solve whatever issues caused them to turn off applications.

The arx store game has bigger issues that not having the option to place certain PMF where you want it...

Even 100k arx buys you almost nothing.... Well 10 skins or 6 pre-release ships... Oh well... We all want different things I suppose

Not sure that amount would even pay for the time of a single developer to look at this for an hour to be honest. Add another zero and you might get their attention.

If I remember though, a big issue with player named factions was that one of the criteria FDev have is that theres no other player squadron in the system - you can't just drop into someone elses system to start a fight. Not easy with the number of systems which player factions have spread to. There's also the description, which needs to be lore friendly and vetting this seems to have taken up more time than FDev were willing to give as well.

If you don't want another (System name) Imperial Empire group, a quick look through some of the factions there on Inara might give you something a bit more unique feeling. Junkyard Dogs, The Trans Galactic Slave Trade or The Shunned are examples of possibilities if you're up for a bit of searching.

For my part, I will join the majority of players who will no longer spend a single euro on ARX. This will not contribute to development, and I am neither the first nor the only one.

I see this type of, 'The masses are with me' threat to Devs all over game forums; as well as, the, 'others are taking the actions I am for the reasons I state". You simply cannot know what the minds of the masses. Even should you discuss with your friends and you all concur about some stated ideology this will always be far less than the reference you make of the "majority of players". Also, you cannot know what people will do in the future or what their motivations will be as clearly it hasn't happened yet.

I will state that you started out well with a compelling headline and it states your desire and degree for this to happen. If you are going to follow that up, an equally compelling reason for why the Devs should make this happen would be your best bet for success.

The first reference I saw to this game was one showing the Sidewinder and it took 2 more years of reading good reviews of this game to finally get me over that image and playing Elite Dangerous.
I remember I had game added to my steam wish list for long time, more than a year for sure. Each time I wanted to buy it and try out I was discouraged by reviews then one day I have simply tried it out. Now I have over 2600h of game time on steam alone which would not be possible if open mode was forced on every player. I understand ED is bad for someone who likes management type games (automation, creation of supply chains etc)- or in other words it is a kind of game that focuses on things that player can do alone in one ship, even such simple features like autopilot are non-existent here.

In reference to main topic of this post.
The closest thing to faction management here is power play.
There is also second option available if You are one of those very rich players- just buy out part of company or sponsor development of feature You want.:)

It's fine, I'll buy some Arx for a new Oppressor skin to help start clawing some of that back.

It's not based on the ships look. I want a small cluster of systems that doesn't allow any of the large ships, most of the mediums, and 2 of the small ones.

That would probably need rewrite levels of code changes to make happen, unfortunately for you.
Well aware. At the same time I do think this has always failure of Fdev to not have it implemented from the start. That every system is perfecty fine with random people in warships capable of taking out entire pirate fleets on their own is just wierd. And as there has always been permit locked systems, I don't see why that couldn't be adapted to lock out certain ships.

i don't plan to spend my real money on renaming or customizing stations for other player factions to enjoy playing BGS on the systems i built. this is when it would really matter if they could have their own minor faction. but since they love their players from me they won't see another euro until they close the server.

An alternative that would bypass the vetting issue could be to have the faction adopt the name of your squadron. That's what I'd want were they to reintroduce PMFs, but it's not personally something I'm too bothered about.

It has only 3500 players and has been falling off for years... So continue to ignore the players who have played 3,000 hours and spent a lot of money on ARX. The graphics are already outdated and will not attract more players. If they continue to ignore loyal players, they should shut down the servers and close the game. Fdev doesn't care about his players.

That's the thing - some of the squadron names aren't going to be what FDev would potentially want permanently in the game. Inara does have a couple of beauties in there.

I think you'd want a bit more control than whatever is in place with those names. Suppose it'd be nice to see "Ganking News Network" being a little more visible in the game though, so it wouldn't be all bad.

The game is primarily funded by new players, so new sales is the whole reason the game is still going at all. They already have your money.
