General / Off-Topic I'll say one thing about this Powerplay melodrama...

My munchie consumption has increased. 
All I can say is, I've never been interested in PP, but if they make it open only along with the other changes, I'll certainly consider it. I thought it was supposed to be a system to enable consensual pvp anyway - having people affect the whole dynamic risk free seems completely counter intuitive to the initial idea. People are going to whinge and moan and massively over-react whatever Frontier do, but the current proposals make sense for me.
As a 95% PvE player: I have noticed that typically the pvP/griefers are very well behaved on the forums, with the PvE players often throwing around the Godwins/medical diagnoses/nasty wishes etc. Same this time. Sometimes its not PvP vs PvE, but rather where you PvP: in game or on the forums.
Haha very true. I don't really pvp, but the claims about open are always massively over blown as well. I've got 1000 hours, all in open, and I've been killed 4 times, maybe less - all at engineer systems or CGs. You hardly ever see anyone out there.
It is difficult for some of them to have a discussion because they have blocked anyone who doesn't echo their own views.
Haha, yeah. I made an estimate in another topic, I've paid approximately 10x more to my crew than due to PvP insurance in 2500 hours of open, most of it in small multi-purpose ships.
One of the more vocal gentlemen had a little tirade about me while saying he muted me, while simultanously arguing he should be able to undermine others from Solo. I couldnt help but notice a pattern...

To be fair, theres not a lotta chance of having an actual yarn about how things may or may not work until the devs fill in a few more blanks...one can only assume that certain changes will need to be made which means diving into the guts of the beast and making those changes a reality.
So if its confirmed one would assume then the direction of ideas would change from opinion to ideas on how to make it work and what other little tweaks and twerks could make the beast run a little smoother.
But alas...with this crowd? Thats what we call unrealistic expectations in this business.
Oh and just fer the record, I do actually think its a good idea...which is sorta why Im not indulging too much with DD cos its a difficult fence to sit on when both sides have a good case and are both right. As much as I already said before in another thread that I honestly couldnt think of anything that solo mode should get as a consolation gesture, it sure would ease a few tempers if frontier threw them a bone at least. They sorta do have a point which needs to be acknowledged at least...they deserve that much at the very least.
Honestly, Im more curious to know whats in the next update, though more urgently perhaps being when. Not expecting anything mind blowing, they already said it would be a small update on their roadmap...I use the term loosely btw...but Im fairly sure there something in it otherwise it wouldnt be called an update.
Im more interested in that than I am about the likes of squadrons...though PP in open only sorta intrigues me a bit...dust needs to settle first, way too many bad vibes out there and any thread started trying to discuss it will get hijacked fairly quickly in the present atmosphere...
