Horizons Illegal Escape Pods?? Seriously?

They can't be handed over / sold anywhere. Sometimes that happens, even 9k ly outside of the bubble :(
Sad souls, i make them a quick end....even system authority destroys those if you drop them in fron of them xD

I bug reported this a while ago .... so long I can't find the report. I even posted photos. I got no response from QA.

Problem was, I couldn't repeat the find, thousands of light years out in space

It would be worthwhile filing a bug report again. This was an issue a long long time ago and it was fixed. Then in 3.03 or .04 it became an issue again.

As a previous bus driver for the first 8 months following the ps4 launch. I've had more than a few times where as on occasion passenger(s) were not happy. Generally to my not ever responding to their sorce me this or sorce me that request. If I wasn't going to get paid, I didn't bother to drop them off at any station, let alone the closest, as they insisted. At some point, they would get into a escape pod and jettison themselves into the void.

If and when I happen to come accross any escape pods in space or on a surface. I figure they were either my previous passenger(s) who choose to bail rather than pay me or they were some other pilots passenger(s) who bailed.
I target them and open fire thus destroying them in the process. A just reward for being a such a *ick.

I just found 6 of these Illegal Life Pods. So I just left them there and let them turn into fertiliser some day. Useless finding something like this 8,000 LY away. Total waste of time tracking them down.

We can only hope the DEV's have a plan for these. How about clandestine body parts centers?? Maybe even complete brain transplants to move a criminals brain into a new body to make them harder to catch? There must be a reason because i simply cannot conceive of a way to accidentally make them.

A shame they can't make better gameplay put of escape pods.
Having said that the same applies to the rest of the game

Escape pods used to all be illegal. Then they changed it so most were legal, and added the Salvage and Rescue section to stations (whatever it's called).

Now they've suddenly become illegal again, with no patch notes about the change.

I think it's just (yet another) 3.0 bug.

Once they decide to make all life Pods legal then collecting them will make all NPC Pirates rabid for your cargo. That's what I see happening all the time.

Since NPC Pirates have no idea what you have in you cargo, (unless you have taken a mission from one faction/power that another faction/power doesn't want you to complete) the NPC Pirates are going to interdict you if they can so they can supposedly scan you and then, even if all you have is toxic waste, demand that you give it to them. So the legality or illegality of escape pods is irrelevant to the pirates. They don't care if your cargo is legal or not. They want it.
So, the real question is, "Why did the DEV's go from all illegal, to all legal to, now, almost all legal but, occasionally you find an illegal one.??""???

I haven’t picked up escape pods in a while but back in pre3 days, I ran across an illegal escape pod. I assumed it had a slave in it and the local government owned the slave. Total make believe, but it was all I could think of to rationalize why it would be against the law to rescue someone.

I used to pick up every legal escape pod I ran across (if I had the cargo space). After dealing with the crazy self ejecting passengers, I now only rescue legal escape pods that I find near ship wrecks. I assume these are other commanders that had some sort of trouble with their ship.

Pods with no sign of ship hulk must have been the annoying passengers that chose to be there. Who am I to interrupt their choice?

I still maintain that the illegal pods are tagged by the local authorities and have some other ship on the way to arrest the occupant. Maybe these are pirates that lost out to a well armed trader?

Ok, I have now found 4 sites with these, usually 6-8 in a pile, and there has also been a rare material in the pile. You have to go in and move them around to find it, but so, there has always been one.
