I'm about to buy my Corvette

Get ready to toast at Jameson Memorial! [big grin]

Isn't it cheaper to get it at a LYR system? Save on rebuy cost?

EDIT - Pretty sure I got mine at Ohm City in LHS 20. Most of the out fitting can be done there or the nearby systems too.

Li Yong-Rui systems give 15% discount on all ships and components, vs the 10% off at Jameson.

I bought mine at LHS 20/Ohm City a year ago. However, I'm not sure if they are still sold there or not. Things change over time. If it isn't there, you could try elsewhere. It was sold at Diaguandri/Ray Gateway for a bit (I was surprised to see it there), but eddb.io isn't listing it there any more. EDDB is indicating that they are sold at LHS 20/Ohm city as of 20 minutes ago.

An extra 5% might not seem like much, but the savings add up and it also lowers the rebuy.

Hope you enjoy it. I don't use mine as much after converting my trade Anaconda (which had collected dust once I got my Cutter, right around the same time I got my Corvette) to a full combat/multimission role. I prefer the load out on my Anaconda and the increased jump range. Occasionally go back to the Corvette for the different look/load out.

One last tip, if you use Coriolis to spec out your ship ahead of time you can click on the $ button in the top right corner and find stations that sell your build and then sort by Power Play Power (listed as Power) to look for LYR discounts.

Hope you've got some decent modules thrown in there otherwise maybe better get ready to BE toast at Jameson Memorial.

Yeah, that's an interesting system in Open.

It's the only place I've ever been interdicted by another player. I was in my fully engineered Clipper (which I use to scan planets, gather engineering mats on planets and USSes) and interdicted by an stealth (no shield, so I'm assuming...) DBS. Why? lol When I lost the interdiction, I boosted away from him so fast he disappeared off my scope (around 6km). I understand the adventure of little ships taking out bigger ones, but why are you engaging something that can easily out run you?

To the OP: Don't feel you need to build the Corvette all at once. You can just buy the base hull and fly your other ships as you upgrade it. That's what I've done with nearly every ship I fly. It doesn't leave dock until I think it's ready.

Love the tension there in Open

Also, the Anaconda is a great module mule for the Corvette and many other ships. When engineering it's much quicker to use the Conda and swap internals to the Corvette / plenty other ships.

Cheaper? Sure, but you're only saving 9M. You can earn that in 20min with a single bounty hunting mission. And the fully outfitted ship is around 700M so you're only saving 1.3% of the total ship cost. It's a hassle to fly to an LYR system, buy the ship, and fly it back in economical jumps to Shinrarta. Takes about 20 min round trip from Shinrarta to do that. Once you get Elite, you never go back to buying at LYR.

I got mine from Ohm City, and LHS 20 last week.

I still don't have a use for it. Lol

Still setting it up though, it'll find its purpose in my fleet, or go the way of the Clipper and be sold to fund more Anacondas. Lol

You will save at least 100 mill if you use LYR systems for your purchase and mods. That what I estimated my discount totaled for my Corvette, complete w/ all full size modules and reactive armor.

Be aware if you fly in Open and busy spots, you WILL attract unwanted attention, a lone Corvette can be overpowered by a wing whose pilots would love to ruin your day.

It's my daily flyer. Quite enjoyable.

Absolutely this.

I bought my Corvette and then threw a bunch of modules at it, took it to a HazRes and wasn't terribly impressed with the result.
After that it went into storage and stayed there for a long while, not so much because I didn't have the credits to build it but because it was a kind of daunting project.
It's easy to experiment when all the parts are available and fairly cheap but, when you're building something like a Corvette, the modules aren't easy to find and they're expensive.

Once I eventually decided what I wanted from it, and what parts to use, it has absolutely become THE ship I use when I absolutely have to kill everything in the vicinity.
It's the closest thing ED has to an "insta-win" button.

Not just the hull; also big ticket items like bulkheads, 8A powerplant, distributor, etc.

I've always had a Founder's World Permit, and I never buy anything at Jameson because it's cheaper elsewhere.

Yeah, a fully decked out vette is about 30-40 million less expensive in LYR space vs. Founders World, with several million less on rebuy as well.
