I'm all set for a move to Colonia when 2.3 lands

I've been getting a bit squee for weeks, but I'm all set now for a trip to Colonia once 2.3 lands. I've built a Federal Corvette and a Python to transfer out there (full specs in the spoiler section for those who are interested), and I've collected all the materials I'll need to get Grade 5 sensor upgrades to all my ships before I leave.

So please, FD, get on with it and finish v2.3 as I'm keen to get under way, and spend some time, hopefully some considerable time, floating around Colonia helping with missions, and eliminating pirates :)

And yes, I have a full nine tab spreadsheet to help me keep track of everything in my game :) in the screenshot, the green blocks indicate something that's been engineer upgraded, the blue blocks indicate a weapon that also has a special effect, and the yellow blocks are waiting for an upgrade when 2.3 lands :)

What needs to happen before 2.3 goes live is the Colonia Expansion needs more infrastructure implemented.

Outfitting out here is poor at the moment (you can't buy a docking computer at all, even if I did want to use one, and most modules are, at the highest Class 3 and 4; D and E ratings).

I would continue to check the progress out here in Eol Prou before deciding to make the journey.......... or stock up on parts before you leave The Bubble.

I'm sure things will improve soon but don't leave The Bubble unprepared.

So which are you flying to Colonia and which one are you paying the small service fee to have shipped?

I'm flying out in an Asp. It'll cost about 1.2 billion cr to have both ships transferred out, so I've been busy doing passenger missions in my Beluga to raise the cash (plus a lot more). :)

As a hint, passenger missions out of Carter Port, Rhea, are extremely profitable.

S...., getting cold feets reading this thread, now im 5000 ly away from colonia, but i forgot that there are no engineers out there.... Mostly just have level 1-3 enginered modules and not everthing i have is even a graded stuff. Well, hope there is less gankers in colonia than at home:p. Also i left my weapons at home to get better jump range, wonder how much cost it is to transfer stuff from the bubble? My bank account isnt exactly too good either, haha, 2million credits and my Asp is all i got in the new world..

Don't worry, my Corvette will only blow you up if you're naughty :)

I'm told that it costs about 1.3x the cost of the module/ship to transfer it, and that it takes three days to happen.

And regards your cash, don't forget you'll make much more selling your exploration data once you get there ;)

Are there many opportunities for piracy, 5,000ly from Colonia? :/

I'm currently out there in my second account. Just a lonely type 6 which I've now retro fitted for mining but the lack of outfitting for ships is crazy. It's taken ages just to buy my extra modules over from the bubble...

Isn't part of the charm and uniqueness of Colonia that it has some of that frontier-town spirit, and you can't just go down to the local store for anything you want?

You can have anything to eat that you want, as long as it's a can of beans round the camp fire....

Yeah, that's why I planned everything in nauseating detail.

Iv gone the other way.

After spending months around Jaques Station, waiting for FD to start flicking switches & improving the region, they decide to use a 'X factor' style popularity contest to expand the region. To say that I was disappointed was a massive understatement.

Iv moved what big ships I had out there back to the bubble & gave up on what is now 'Colonia' as a poor man's bubble 2.

Iv been back in the bubble 1 region since & have little intention on returning back to Jaques (Iv made the trip out there at least 12 times) in the future.
