Video Series: the CQC Sessions

Hey all,

I'm guessing not many of you actually missed me when I was gone...I haven't really staked a claim to forum fame other than post a video of me failing as a n00b that did pretty well on YouTube for a while.

Regardless, being the Slowpoke I am, when I finally heard of CQC being released for PC (it was a while after the fact, sorry), being the combat junkie I am I just had to come back to check it out.

Below is the first of what will be many CQC Sessions. Behold fail that is nothing less than epic:

Suggestions on how to improve my CQC game are welcome. I could use all the help I can get, I think. :eek:

You have a sub if-

-You change the font in the vid. In my drunken state I cannot read it. You could have written, 'Ren, duck! A zombie is gonna eat your spine!'... I would've had no clue. Make it easier to read.

-Is that your voice, or is it dubbed? Nonetheless, I enjoyed it.

-Dont change your fighting style. I like the unorthodox approach.

Thats it, I suppose.


All in all, I liked it. It made me smile. Kinda like my own performance.
And please don't go and get better on me.

I will definitely take that under advisement for the next video. The reason I picked the font I did was because it was reminiscent of the old Wipeout series of PlayStation games, and I figured it'd go with the overall visual theme of the video. But you're right, in cases like this readability trumps form factor. So I'll look for a different font. :)

It is my voice. Trust me, it sounds a lot better in reality than it does digitally recorded. I wanted to include the voice clips from me for comedic purposes. I just wish there was a microphone/recording thingy out there that could capture my voice without it sounding whiny...

My second CQC Session is now up on YouTube for all to enjoy! And from this thread I know there are a couple who enjoy it. ;)
Featuring a readable font, plenty of collisions, ships phasing through matter and a clever way to score a kill...

Also, tomorrow's my birthday. (Or today if you're in the UK. :) )

CQC Sessions 3 is Up!

Sorry for bumping the thread again, but I did two things:
  • I collected all the CQC Sessions videos to date (three of them) into the first post.
  • Oh, and my third CQC Sessions video is up, as the previous point mentioned already.

I hope you're all enjoying the videos! :D
