Newcomer / Intro im back but .... what ?

i was off about one year, maybe 1 1/2 year and the whole option section is screwed up.
when i use custom to configure dual sticks, there are all options gone , like mode switching / switch to combat mode.
they are no longer exist then, the m key is dead. the option missing so that i cant assign a button of my joysticks.
switching beteen fire groups, dont exist (can use the wake or kill scanners) cant toggle autoland and so on.....
how to use joysticks and default keyboard keys ?
also, no joystick is available in the options, eg : saitek 52 or TM1600M nada

also the cross is no longer available to switch on for better alignments, no more axis for speed in supercruise is available and so on and so on.
the they cripple the options or is my installation bugged ?

Assuming you are in "Live" (Odyssey or Horizons) then the controls are set in four (Odyssey) or three (Horizons) different groups. Your mode switching and firegroups etc are in the ship section, etc.

Legacy ED and EDH have not changed.

i know the modes should be there (options/ship), but they arent. thats my problem.

Hmm... I'm wondering if your binds file has been overwritten/corrupted. If you assign a few binds, do they "stick" if you relog?

yes, yesterday i configured 2 TM 1600m sticks and one crosswind V3 rudder pedal.
all i had set worked fine after relogging.

It does sound to me like your binds file has been "interfered" with. Sometimes happens if you play the game without a device (joystick, mouse etc.) not plugged in and ED loads a default set of binds.

I could be wrong.

But if it were me, I'd bite the bullet and create your mapings again and then back up the file once done.

the problem is i cant bind what is not there to bind. like switch combat mode etc. i will wipe it and do a fresh install. maybe then it will work

So it's almost lke your joysticks are disconnected?

i did a new installtation and now i do have all the points bound to keyboard now (standard settings) and able to map them to my joysticks.
nothing is more annoying when your bounty target intercepts you out of mode and you cant deploy your weapons cause you cant switch back the mode
