I'm bored with this game. What to do?

I have about 500 hours since December. Had lots of fun but now I'm bored.

I have the ships I want. Anaconda and Corvette. The grind to get Imperial Cutter is not worth it.

No need to mine anymore, I've got enough credits.

Combat is.......meh.

Exploration would be fun if there was something to do when you get there. Driving around on a barren planet gets old after 30minutes.

So am I missing something? What else is there to do?

Seems to me you have only just scratched the surface of what you can do.

Was your entire game spent grinding for credits to get the next big ship even though the basic gameplay when you get those ships is the same as the ship you started in?

500 hours is a pretty good deal for a game. Maybe it's time to play something else for a bit and come back later.

If you really want a reason to continue with ED, how about joining one of the player groups repairing stations or fighting Thargoids. Or what about sightseeing. Have you been inside a Thargoid base, have you found brain trees, barnacles, Jameson's Cobra etc.?

No. I like doing the road to riches thing. Not for credits but for fun.

This. Any game where I can rack up 500 hours was value for money in my book. Though I've racked up thousands in E: D...

Try something else. Then a few days, weeks, months, or maybe even years down the line you may have a sudden urge to get in your spaceship again and do something in E: D.
Agreed. In general, you will burn out from playing any game after long enough. Variety is the spice of life and all that shizzle.

500 hours since December
That's a maximum of 71 days (assuming by December you mean the 1st, plus January and 9 days in Feb) = 500 hours is 7 hours a day every day. It's not a job. (Of course, if you bought the game later in December then your hours per day is even higher!)

The grind
is in your mind. But probably due to playing 7 hours a day every day.

Imperial Cutter is not worth it
Yes it is. And the only way to know that is to fly one.

Take a break. When you come back just play the game, don't grind for anything and realise things will happen.

FWIW I just built a Python because I realised I had nearly all the modules needed in storage, most at G5 already. I've returned to the good old "rares trading route" to try it out. It's more fun than the Cutter, Corvette and T9 I've been flying for some time because they were efficient.
