Wondered why my friends and I were having a hard time with it
The AI was respawning above the base - immediately after the previous one died.
To add insult to injury, ALL of them had unlimited SCBs, ignored SR and could HIT SRVS RELIABLY MID-AIR. This is not unique to this situation, but rather points out a consistent, core problem of this game that the devs have repeatedly refused to address - the AI cheating.
I am SICK OF IT. It's downright lazy. It ruins the game completely, and it's not just in combat - stupid AI that keeps trying to attack you well into no fire zones, eagles disintegrating themselves on the hull of my conda for "all that tasty cargo" consisting of one limpet also come to mind along with hundreds of other examples.
GET IT TOGETHER FD. This is completely unacceptable for a game of this price, let alone one that's been out for the age that this one has, or even one with this kind of design philosophy. What, we're super realistic about how we have to look for materials, a boring and tedious task, but we can't get combat, a fun and exciting task to function right even according to the game's own rules? Give me a break and get your priorities right.
I'm not even going to check this post due to the flaming this forum is known for and I fully expect to be banned for daring to say something negative about ED, but at least I know I was correct and it needed to be said. I'll also feel perfectly justified in calling FD out for inevitably ignoring good advice a year or two on when the same issues are still completely unaddressed.
