Newcomer / Intro I'm DOOMED!

Only 2 days in to my ED adventures of actual gameplay (after many more researching).
I have no idea what I'm doing...and I LIKE that!
New discoveries every time I play.
I'm scouring forums and Youtube and guides every day for more info.
I'm obsessed!
When I am not playing it, I am thinking about it!
Is this normal?
I mean, even a successful docking is joyful!
Does this level of obsession peter out or get worse?
Damn you Frontier!
I have SPACE MADNESS!!!!!
(circa Ren & Stimpy 1991)

I've been playing since about Beta 2.04, and I still love it.

I'm not money driven though, I just like to screw around with a bit of everything. I'm lucky to make 100k/hr, but I don't care, I'm enjoying the game!

Z...

Perfectly normal :). Dockings lose a bit of glamour when you start docking on the fly, without needing to use the vertical thrusters, but the level of obsession seems to be holding quite well for the moment :D

...I mean, even a successful docking is joyful!...

If in other aspects of the game (flying, pvp, trading, exploring, camping, etc...) you can control your destiny and your ship and all it has (equipment, cargo) when docking, there is the size of the airlock, there is the grid in front of the airlock (like a wire tunnel that you need to pass), starbase rotating, NPC ships comming/entering the station, a lot of things that you can not control so for me, yes, docking scares the hell out of me cause you can loose a lot of credits and you can do almost nothing to prevent that :)

Let's not forget that this is just the beginning too!

The good news is that when it does begin to peter the developers will release more stuff and the obsession will start all over.

Does this level of obsession peter out or get worse?

It gets worse.. The more I play the more I like it..

I think if I had an Oculus I would be suffering from malnutrition by now and my family would be sending out a search party.

OP I am also doomed. just finishing up on 4 weeks of hols, with many a late night in ED. As of Monday I am back at work. It is going to be a difficult transition.

Perfectly normal. The sleep deprivation might hurt after a bit, especially if you have a job to go to.

Diwrnach ; I recognise your avatar... I better get Pinback with his broom to take care of it while I go talk to Bomb.

Can someone please explain to my wife, who has had me stripping wallpaper and sanding walls for the last 8 hours, that there is space to explore and credits to make!!!

Priorities!
