It was more of a confession...I had to tell someone. I felt I was doing something wrong.

Can't stand marzipan....

Love the stuff personally. Another indulgence is the concentrated cooking chocolate, usually unsweetened.

Currently working my way through 3KG each of mini chocolate eggs, jelly beans and jelly babies. Bought to give to some kids at an Easter party. Their parents didn't like them having so much sugar.

Fortunately my parents are so long gone they don't mind. (In any case, they lived before anything good was bad for you :D)
 
A legend wants that the marzipan was invented to Lübeck. In the middle ages, the city was besieged and was not able to stock up with food. In this trade city of the Hanse, there was only the sugar and the almonds in the warehouses of the traders. As the hunger threatened, somebody had the idea to mix ground almonds with the sugar, and so was invented the marzipan
