I'm embarrassed to admit that...

... after 1000+ hours and (currently) 29K LY from Sol, I've only just realised you can recharge the AFM!!

So I can keep repairing my FSD after Neutron Star boosting.

Woop :D

I'm off to find me some more NS fields to cruise...

One keeps learning all the time in Elite. :)

Just, if you are flying an Explonda like your avatar suggests, be careful with NS. Conda is one of the ships that have REALLY hard time escaping the neutron jets once you get pulled from SC!

Good luck on your (now a bit safer) journeys, cmmander. o7

Yup, you learn something new every day.

I'm actually out in a stock (non-engineered) Asp. The avatar is my Tradeconda, tucked up in bed back in the bubble.

fly a DBE, and you don't need that afmu-refill nonsense.

don't need=you can't do

it can either fit an afmu or a srv.

what a great ship :)

Are you saying the DBE doesn't degrade its FSD when Neutron Star boosting?

uhm, no - but it is anyway not such a good idea to take a small ship for neutron bboost jumps in my (limited) experience.

You just need to stock up on the mats before you leave the bubble...

i would never leave the bubble without a srv! at least, if i don't run a passenger mission in my dbe ... in that case i have neither a srv nor an afmu...

I get about a 1% drop in FSD integrity per boost.

Each 1% takes about 30 AFM units to repair.

I have 2 AFM modules (3600 units each), so that gives me about 240 boosts without any recharges.

And I never allow the FSD to drop below 80%
